Well I still think they should have an option that provides freeview via IPTV even if there is a small charge.
With regard to adding new channels, the following should be added: Discovery science MTV Base MTV Dance MTV Classics BET VH1 Chart Show TV The Box Flava Kiss Magic Sky 1 Sky 2 Sky Living Sky Real Lives Sky Atlantic Euronews Fox News CNN Bloomberg They should really also add foreign language channels. BT really do have what it takes to beat Sky and offer a great TV service that meets everyone's requirements. Virgin Media is almost there. I already get Euronews via the TV player on Freeview channel 241 by using my Samsung full HD smart TV. Darren |

I'm not to bothered if I dont have the extra Sky channels like Sky 1 or Sky Living as like some say it would put the price of BT TV up.

Sky-only pay channels are available via Now TV on a Chromecast, as well as the Now TV / Apple TV / Roku platforms. So although it's more convenient to have them all in one place, competition means it likely people will have to plug in different devices and switch between them to get a similar range of channels to satellite without a dish. |

Sky News HD is available live on YouTube. It's the International version with interesting filler instead of ads.

They could add much of your list above to thier music add on but I wouldn't want to pay more for them as I'm not interested.. I also think that adding the Sky channels would put up the price a lot and I don't watch the Sky channels.but maybe they could have a Sky bolt on for those that want all the Sky channels. The ability to add bolt ons is what I like about BT TV and saves you from paying for content you don't watch like for me, their kids and music add ons. Virgin and Sky should follow their lead.
As for streaming the Freeview channels..They could also do that for a small extra charge and gain customers in frerview lite areas in the future. Cable and Wireless used to sell its analogue service in such a way in late 1999 whilst Cable London a Telewest franchise sold its channels in the 3 packages Entry/Key and Max. A majority of the pay to channels do not cost a great deal wholesale wise, a good selling point is choice, restricting access or not listening to consumers is not wise |

I'd like to get back the HD versions of E4, Film 4, ITV2, Dave etc. that I used to have on Sky. If they can't be FTA on Freeview for whatever reason then having them as IPTV channels in the HD package would be great.
Not really bothered about the Sky channels, but TCM would be good. |

Agreed - if you have a Smart TV in addition to your Youview box you can get a load of additional music, news and foreign channels on your screen for free via TV Player and Vision TV.

Trouble is that BT has became another Communication company that hold all four main services of TV, Broadband, Telephone and Mobile and package them together but this leads to troubles of talking between each part to help with customers needs and need to give more to each services as we see prices go up each year even when power prices and all other prices have been going down or not moving.
BT has made large move to bring sports to there main item which maybe they downfall like with other TV companies in the past. They also made the large move back to Mobile phones too in 2015. BUT they must not stop from giving the customer a service that others have given like Virgin / Sky which have added channels SD & HD and not only sports ... Remember that BT is being backed by Freeview that has added and is still adding channels but only free to air and this is why BT needs to look for many more channels in 2016 or loose out with other services very quickly. BT could bring these channels to air...... Watch HD ( W HD ) Eden HD Dave HD TCM HD Film 4 HD Disney HD Sky Movies HD H2 HD and others |

I can see the possibility of the UK TV HD Channels maybe joining the BT TV Lineup in the future as the SD versions are already there and maybe H2 HD; but as for Sky and Disney...I doubt it very much, unless a new relationship with Sky is negotiated and they start offering a Sky channels bolt on... I would like to see them add Discovery Science, but streaming a lot of extra channels would come at a high cost and you would have to pay for that.

I think so. On channel 311. I think it's just a rebrand of Watch without the "atch"

Would like to think BT would replace Fox with there own channel to rival Sky but think we are a while away from that for some of the UK rights to shows Sky has or are owned other channels.

BT has to do something this year as SKY has Sky Q coming out to come against BT Sports UHD service of a box that also can handle UHD too, along with Broadcasted and Internet channels like BT has now piggy back on Freeview channels.
BT is hoping on the Sports channels BUT SKY & VIRGIN has more sports channels then BT has on it boxes. Virgin has 35 sports channels SD & HD, so BT will not win there. ( but with all the cheating, lies, greed & over paying in sports at this why watch it ) BT can be better in bring more film channels to air like FILM4 HD TCM HD & sky Movies HD along with few others.. BT would need to have some great shows rights to bring it own channels to air as other are doing OK, like BBC, ITV, C4, C5, Sky 1, Sky living, FOX, SyFy and W ( Watch ) As for BT losing FOX then that would be a very large lost and for me a big thing to look into not re contacting with BT next time. Talk Talk has many channels like Sky 1 and others that BT should have now and yes TT does not have BT sports and HD channels . If BT is going to be a player with the other 2 ( Sky & Virgin ) then other then buying a mobile phone company will not do. As the other 2 has so many more channels. So the channels we all have put on this thread should be number one on the list for BT to do in the next few months . |
