Is Albert Square an island in another universe?
Strange how none of the residents of Albert Square seem to work outside the square. They only ever marry or have relationships with fellow square residents and, no matter how many newcomers arrive, they all find somewhere to live. Kush is, presumably, a Muslim, otherwise he would not be acceptable to Shabnam, but his mum is very much a non Muslim "Eastender". If she had a child (Kush) with a Muslim, surely she would have had to "convert". As for Shabnam, in the real world, having a baby out of wedlock would be a very risky business. I know it's only a "soap" but it bears little relationship to any East End that I ever knew.
