EE: Storylines we should see
1) Female-on-male rape storyline would be very imaginative. Only 1% of rape victims are men raped by women. It would be explosive because no one would believe the victim and they'd think it was an affair. The woman would be able to blackmail the victim etc. Would be more powerful than Dean/Linda. I don't know the characters who should be involved. I was thinking Ronnie and Vincent or Ben and Abi? Could be someone else.
2) Parental domestic violence. Ben leaves the Mitchell home and moves in with Kathy. Ben would never forgive Kathy and he could go mad and start abusing his own mother. A lot of potential there. 3) Genetic sexual attraction has rarely been tackled but never in depth. Case for Mark Fowler Jr. and Courtney Mitchell is obvious. 4) Transgender. There should a man and wife with the man wanting to be a woman. Would be even more interesting if this was within the Pakistani or Bangladeshi community. 5) Politics. I want one of the characters to become a local politician like in Coronation Street. Also, a storyline based on the biraderi politics in the East End and the corruption that entails with one of the villains finding out and blackmailing could be interesting. |

Some storylines are recycled over and over again so I'd be happy to see new types of storylines such as the ones what you have suggested.
I don't think they have been done and they are original (unlike things like EE's baby swap storyline which was original but very far fetched). |

Maybe a pet-related storyline.

Some type of male cancer, and for a younger male rather than just a tool to kill off an oldie. It seems on soaps cancer is almost exclusively given to women.
Female on male rape could be interesting too if handled well. Another thing that crossed my mind once was have a new female character who seems a bit distant/cold but then have the discovery that her husband is in prison for pedophilia or child murder or something, I often wonder how the families of those who commit awful crimes cope after their family member is sent to prison, what they do, how do they try and deal with it and rebuild their lives'. Prostitution that doesn't automatically involve pimps/drugs/depression, many women voluntarily become escorts without some sinister undertone. |

In that same episode Dot called a prostitute who's phone began to ring the same room ![]() That was a very strange episode... http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s2...plyxdfQAVasRqE I even found a catchup for that episode: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p019t8q4 |

I would like to see a late in life coming out story. It happens. Not everyone knows they are gay at a young age. It doesn't have to be a repressed sexuality storyline. But perhaps an established character who has been straight but find themselves falling in love with the same sex. Not a sensational storyline like the americans do when the character is gay for months and results back to being straight and it is never ever mentioned again. But a coming out story with a difference.

Has EE ever had a self harm storyline? It would be an interesting issue to cover. I know Hollyoaks has, but don't remember one in EE.

Having went through it myself growing up, i'd love to see an agoraphobia storyline. I've rarely seen this being portrayed in soaps, but it's quite a common issue.
