At last, what with the BGT decision & now this, Ofcom seem to have developed a modicum of sense. **

The day that I have so little going on in my life that I find myself making an official complaint about a TV program is the day i will kill myself.

I do wonder whether the issue was that it implied two men had sex or whether it was done in front of a dead body. If it was the second, i could understand the disgust, but not the point of complaining.

They should have June Brown announce "EE, recommended by OFCOM" at the beginning of each episode.

Carol "swearing" ha ha! As for Ben and Paul I would imagine that it was because of the dead body in the room. However there are still people who complain about gay sexy times on soap or other TV. I would imagine it's much older people complaining. Younger people seem to be more tolerant and it's no biggie to them if someone is gay. Unfortunately yes there are some bigoted young people but I still think it will be older generations complaining.
As for Carol's so called bad language I don't consider what she said as swearing!

I have to say i didn't much like the Ben/Paul scene but that was because of the corpse, not because they were men. I'd have felt the same if it were a heterosexual couple. It was just disrespectful to the dead. I could have done without even the idea that something like that could happen when you entrust a loved one to a funeral directors care. Not that sex is dirty, homo or hetereo but if you know your parent or child wouldn't want to be a voyeur to a couple having sex whilst alive, why would it be different in death?

Now i know it's fiction and no reputable Funeral director would allow access but it's still a scene I could have done without.

I'd never complain about such a thing though.

They cleared EastEnders for the baby swap storyline so I'm curious as to what times have OFCOM actually not cleared EastEnders?

Also what would happen as a consequence if EastEnders isn't cleared for something?

Why not. A Frank Butcher spinning bow tie on one of the corpses too!

I think that an announcement is made of OFCOM's ruling after an episode transmission and the Producers have too issue a statement responding to the verdict, either apologising or defending what was aired.

I think there is also a fine levied against the show but might be wrong about that.

Has there ever been a time where OFCOM have fined a soap?

I can understand the complaints of the sex scene in the funeral parlour. It was a bit in bad taste. I mean imagine if your recent deceased loved one was lying there, resting in peace whilst two people were having sex in the same room. You probably wouldn't like it. Kind of disrespectful! Lol

I agree with this but I would never complain about it to offcom.

Yep, that was what I was trying to say. It's a bad enough time anyway, without having the thought of that implanted in your mind in a pre watershed soap opera.

I didn't (and wouldn't) complain about it though.

Neither would I!

I don't give a damn what the sexuality of the couple involved was - decent people just do not have sex next to a corpse in a funeral parlour.

They should have some bloody respect.

We all know that Ben is lowlife Mitchell scum but annoying creosote Paul with his fixed rictus grin (exactly like a dead body actually) hardly covered himself in glory either.

Complaining about swearing is pure pathetic but I understand about the funeral parlour. It was horrific.
