Officially announced.

http://android-developers.blogspot.n...final-sdk.html

The Android emulator system images and developer preview system images have been updated for supported Nexus devices (Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 9 & Nexus Player) to help with your testing
Not coming for the Nexus 7 family? Disappointing.

Disappointing its not coming to Nexus 7 and the Nexus 4.
Would have hoped it would be coming to the Nexus 4 at lest.
Anyone know if Google will in time be bring out a new Nexus smartphone. My Nexus 4 is now just over 2 year and although it still works 98%/99% fine I will in.the next year be looking to get a new phone.
The Nexusc4 has been one of the best phones I have ever had.

Isn't it a bit presumptuous to say it isn't coming to the Nexus 7 2013? OK it is out of the 2yr update Google recently announced however as it received alpha builds 1 and 2 maybe they will release Android 6.0 for it. If not then XDA is a great friend.

It would be quite a surprise if it was released for the nexus 4 though, it is about three years old.

That is good news for me, not more updates for my Nexus 4 or 7, I am happy with it as it is now, having got used to Android 5.

I am certainly not planning on getting another phone

M, marshmallow eh? Should toast nicely on these hot new phones.

So much for M&Ms and 5.2 then.

If your phone was released last year on 4.4 and you haven't seen it update to 5.0 then be thankful. In many cases 5.0 was an absolute dog with many issues.

Again, if you have an old device like the N4 you should be pleased that Google are not going to crap it up with a new version. Listen to Noise747. Sometimes new is not always better on old devices.

I've had two phones with 5.0 on and had no problems with it - Nexus 5 and HTC M8. I pretty sure the majority of people have not had a problem with it either.

The Nexus 4 got the original dev previews late so I suspect the same is happening this time...

Got the last beta preview on my Nexus 5, feels very nice. Battery is strange. Messenger for Facebook takes up lots and lots of battery then when Doze kicks in it drops to no battery loss.

Yeah but if everyone listened to him, they'd never update anything ever.

Yes two lines of thinking.

1. Disappointed that the N4 isn't getting the update as its always best (security wise) to be up to date.

2. Thankful as 5 has slowed down and balls up the N4. The update forced me to lose all my data which was annoying and the battery just seems to drain like mad on 5 and the phone just do random things.
