This is one of the biggest things annoying me in an otherwise semi-believable plot, where on earth is Lauren?

She left on good terms with her Dad.
She knows the secret and it disgusted her.
Even if she was mad at him she wouldn't sit back and let her father rot in jail forever for a crime she knows he didn't commit.

Has not one person (Carol, Abi, Max, Sharon, Liam, anyone) not bothered to pick up the phone to poor Lauren in NZ and say "Your father is in police custody for the murder of Lucy Beale, your best friend"?

Do they have phones in NZ?

Did Ian and Jane take a secret trip to NZ and murder them both to cover their long running tracks?

Or have Eastenders deliberately left it out because the fact of the matter is she would be on the first flight home and sorting out this mess and they wouldn't be able to drag it on until Xmas.

Someone call Lauren!

Lauren must be heavily pregnant now, so it shouldn't be too long before Lauren returns. I don't want them to announce her coming back though - make everyone think that Max is going down, or as soon as Max goes down - everyone will think it's over. Then Abi opens the door to receive a slap from Lauren who then goes over and confronts the Beales.

BIB: They're all busy and not likely to be in a rush to tell her, plus Abi wouldn't want Lauren to find out her sister got their dad imprisoned for murder just to release her boyfriend. Ian and Jane probably won't have told her or Peter either so the secret won't be at risk. Also, they don't know that Lauren knows, so it's not like they'll be thinking "let's call Lauren, she'll get this sorted!"

Its a joke that she wouldn't know already and just have told Abi or someone that Bobby did it.

Ok she can't fly but its not the 1920s she can skype, call, facebook etc.

Also, in a world of Facebook and the news? Nothing? Her best-friends murder trial, her partners twin-sisters murder trial and neither have heard a word, if not from family or friends but from the news? Really?

walford news is not going ot be broadcast in NZ or really anywhere outside of Walford. I it quite believable no one has contacted her, they are all pretty dysfunctional. Abi & her were not getting on at all when L left. Tanya is out of the picture she didn't even miss her own Mum.

When is the last time you contacted your cousins or Aunts. many of us, do not keep in close touch with family.

I think it will transpire that Peter knows and has intercepted letters/calls etc to Lauren so she is just unaware and hasn't had any direct contact with any of her family, something stupid like that, but that she'll eventually find out and come back leaving Peter out there because he kept it from her.

Would the police not have to interview Lauren as part Max's arrest and she could be called to testify (via skype or written evidence) as a witness. It would be odd if she not spoken to by defence or prosecution to help their case?

I think that this story would have made BBC news which a lot of people have on their phones throughout the world. They are also out there with Steven who is Lucy's brother too. The fact that not one of the three of them have seen anything online or indeed anyone who knows them over there wouldn't have seen something and thought to mention it is completely unbelievable.

Also we are in the age of text, wassup, viber, skype, email, facebook, twitter etc etc. Even if one of the family didn't tell them they are bound to be in contact with some friends from home and it is fairly big news. Surely Whitney at least sends Lauren the odd wassup and would mention it even if only presuming she already knew!

I have a lot of friends who have moved to Australia and NZ and they generally know everything noteworthy that happens at home, mainly via social media. This story would be hard to miss, particularly when close family members of all three are at the centre of it.

Hopefully there will be some reasonable explanation given for it other than 'Lauren has just found out six months later.'

I think I might have contacted my relatives if one of my family was arrested for murder. Come on, get real. Given that everybody in Eastenders seems to have everyone else's phone number, I think it unlikely that nobody at all has been in touch with Lauren and Peter. Ridiculous.

I still read the Peterborough local newspaper and I haven't lived there for seven years. I think I might be slightly interested if someone I knew had been arrested for murder.

was 1/2 expecting her to turn up last night when Max said he had another visitor but it was just Marcus Christie lol

I hope it is a surprise return when she comes back, not really looking forward to her having a sprog but guess they cant kill it off and just have to deal with it. I am surprised she hasnt been mentioned much or some excuse brought up as to why she hasnt got on Skype and told Abi the truth or something. Maybe this is the reason she comes back though because her and Peter fight over telling the truth to save Max.

When she left in February was she two months pregnant so I assume she is eight months now.

So she will be back my Xmas I assume.

However my concern is this Lucy story will drag on until she returns

this is probably the most logical explanation

Probably something like this, the writers like us to think social media isn't a thing unless its used in some cyber bulling capacity.

No that's not what I meant - I mean ANYBODY caling and saying "Hello Lauren, your Dad is in a police station for the murder of Lucy".

Yes I think Carol and Tanya spoke about it on the phone, same time Abi asked after Cora.
