After heaping praise on Now in the past - using my LG apps for the sport, this weekend and today it's anything but.
After a couple of week's reliable service I've had constant buffering, poor quality stream (worse than SD) and juddery; feel like I've been mugged of my £31.99 month's sub. To watch the sport I've had to use the, ahem, unofficial streams who seem to manage perfectly.
No problems with any other streaming services eg. Eurosport.
Seems to me that Now is simply an afterthought which Sky pay little attention to, can't understand why for the cost, it's not absolutely spot-on.
Not that Sky want you to mighrate to their satellite system at all.....
That's one thing I won't be doing!

As tempting as it is to blame Now TV here, is it possible there were other factors involved? i.e. your ISP, broadband connection (and issues that may have been in your neighbourhood broadband at the time)

Or perhaps your LG TV had issues at that time? Did you try on other devices? Are you using WiFi?

Just saying, as I have been using Now TV for a while and although they used to have issues a while ago, I haven't seen any for ages, including last weekend where I got perfect streaming (and I'm doing it from much further away in Germany).

Broadband connection's fine, 12 - 15mb/s (provided by Sky, ahem) and my TV accepts live streaming from Eurosport prefectly well. No other devices are on whilst watching Now. I used both wifi and connected directly to the router; no difference.
Why should my TV have "issues"? Don't understand that but if there's anything I can do to it at my end I'd gladly try
Other people are on the Now Community compalining about the quality of the streams and buffering, so it's not just me.

EDIT just done a speed test = 13.95mb/s download.

Fair enough. I notice that you say you are still having issues today? Can you tell me the channel you are currently watching which has the problem? Myself and other readers here can also flip to that channel and report back.

I have just fired up NowTV on the old Now TV box, and I will admit I'm not seeing the best stream ever, so something may indeed be amiss. That said, it is still pretty good.

What I meant by checking a different device is that not all streams come from the same Now TV servers. Some devices may be pulling a stream from a server which is having issues, or that device itself may have a problem. So, if you are using the same issues on your LG and on your mobile device, then it gets interesting.

I don't know about LG TVs, but I know that us Samsung TV users are often dropping our heads in frustration. WiFi has been a major issue with some models, and all models experience regular networking issues. So, perhaps LG may have the odd problem as well??? Check on a different device.

Yeap, it really could be that Now TV has an issue now. If this is the case, then it will hopefully go away soon. But as mentioned, let us know what channel you are experiencing problems with right now, and I'll check at my end.

Just a last question... are you using any DNS redirecting service to get overseas content?

Year, but that just means the type of traffic done by the test got through ok, and on that particular device. Video traffic may be treated very differently by your ISP and/or the route from Sky.

Thanks for all that, illuminating! Not using Now just now - in and out of the house and going to a game tonight so won't be using until tomorrow.
But I'll read through all that and see what I can/can't do.
Cheers!
