Then she needs to start back up again. Think of the fans

She is entitled to do any job she wants to, just like the rest of us.

If I were ever to become a billionaire, the very first thing I'd do is over a billion to Susan Tully to return for an episode or 2. I doubt I'm the only one who thinks like this, so her return is inevitable when you think about it.

susan Tulley and Ross Kemp are dreadful actors. She has absolutely no charisma and he looks like a psychotic baby. I stopped watching EE twice because of those two - now I don't watch it at all. Just saw this thread as I was trawling.

With the Tories breathing down the Beeb's neck at the moment, I doubt EastEnders will be offering any 1 million pound deals to anyone, let alone 15million.

It wouldn't surprise me to read the pay structures at shows like EastEnders are given a bit of an overhaul, to satisfy the licence fee payer. I read the other Coronation Street has introduced a three tier pay system, with Ken Barlow, Sally & Kevin Webster, Rita atc on 250,000 a year, and the then Kym Marsh and others on 100,000, with a lot of the younger, less established cast on 40,000 a year. This was said to be linked to bosses expecting a bit of a cast exodus, due to the pay measures.

If anything, EastEnders will probably have it's wage budget reduced or restructured to be more cost efficient. The days of big money contracts for the big names are gone.

Oh no, not this thread again
I said it before and I'll say it again, £15m should go to charity instead of an actress and an actor who will leave in the space of 1 month - 18 months, what's the point?

Either this is sarcasm or ignorance for Susan Tully, must be ignorance

I never really found Susan Tully to be especially charismatic or appealing and though I'd class the Fowlers as my favourite ever EastEnders family, I wouldn't mind if Michelle was recast. (Really I think it should have been done back in the 1990s - it is a bit pointless now.)

Others like Letitia Dean and Gillian Taylforth (and Ross Kemp for that matter), in my opinion, are much more appealing 'personalities' and I really can't imagine their characters being recast. A lot of the interest in the character was because the actor was appealing. To me that isn't so much the case with Michelle - she's more important due to the family she was part of, not because the actor had star quality.

Not on my part.

Wages should be in line with service and talent therefore your lower limit of £15 each sounds about right.

Maybe that's a bit stingy. Minimum wage seems fair.

(You've mistakenly put £15M in the title but that's obviously ridiculous so I assume the £15 in the OP is the correct amount.)

Grant was great in the 90's but it's probably best to leave him there.

Could never see why Michelle was so great. I always found her sanctimonious, miserable, sour-faced and irritating.

They need to kill Michelle off.

What is this obsession with Mark Fowler Junior's parentage being revealed? Most of the people foaming at the mouth for this storyline didn't even watch EastEnders when Michelle was in it. She's been gone 20 years. She's not coming back and neither is this storyline. It was written so she'd have a way back in if Tully ever returned. She didn't and it's time to move on.

True, the tweens haven't a clue what they're on about.

I suppose 'Chelle could come back as an battleaxe like her grandmother and mother... Given how sour-faced she was even as a young girl it would be a natural progression for the character....

Soap actors should be judged on their acting not how 'sexy' they are.

People who only watch soaps because they fancy the actors or the characters aren't real fans.

Who do you think is in the top tier, middle tier etc in EastEnders?

I know that Steve Mcfadden, Perry Fenwick and June Brown were the top earners last time I read.

I have no idea about the rest of the cast, but I would presume the lowest paid would be the younger ones as they are the least established.

When was the last leak about the wages/pecking order in EastEnders?

It was just an article I read several years ago in a newspaper.

Things might have changed since then. I should imagine Danny Dyer would be one of the highest paid nowadays.

Would this £15m have special tax free exemptions as they could lose a big chunk of that money if you haven't taken tax into account and they may not be as tempted? Surely it should be £15m plus the BBC paying their tax for them too to keep them sweet?
