Well 2015 Strictly is over for me, it will totally be the Andre Show. Sad choice, but I suppose I'll get my Autumn weekends back.

Not a particular fan of his and I expect the kids will be wheeled out at every opportunity but I actually think it's very good for the show. He does still have quite a following, if not a record buying following. I think he might do rather well and providing he doesn't bleat on about his kids all the time I think he might be quite likeable in a Mark Wright Mr Cheesy sort of way. And I do suspect his motives for doing the show will quite genuine......for his children's enjoyment and credibility amongst schoolmates, learning a proper dancing skill as opposed to what he has for his videos etc. plus publicity and career regeneration. I think he'll work really hard too.

Put it like this I'd rather see Peter Andre than some desperate non entity using the show for a leg up.

I have no problem with Peter Andre doing the show. He is not someone who creates strong feelings in me either way. Yes he's cheesy but I survived Mark Wright last year - who I think is worse than Pete. I will be curious to see how well he does but as Mrs BBV says I have no doubt he will work hard. Whilst I think he would be a safe partner for Kristina I hope he dosnt get her as I am expecting a back lash toward her this year and think he deserves a fair chance.

With over three million twitter followers can we assume that he has already won?

It seems a few people don't think he does! Personally I don't think the popularity of a pro should come into it at all - but of course it does. By the same token we can forgive or condemn a celebrities' performance by how we feel about them. I will change my comment to I HOPE he gets a fair chance. I also hope voters give Kristina a fair chance too. She did well with Simon last year both personally and professionally.
As far as peter is concerned he can be irritating and cheesy at times but he hasn't hurt anyone, seems harmless. I find the mute button is my friend when anyone 'gushes'!

On the other hand of course - sorry I'm only human - if she were to get someone like Anthony Cotton then I would be less concerned!

I think that he will definetly be there in the final.

Peter Andre was the one celeb that, I REALLY didn't want to do the show. Hopefully, the show won't revolve around him. I briefly considered not watching the show because of him, but I won't let him, ruin it for me.

Yes, he's cheesy and he's irritating but he's also harmless. It could have been a lot worse - I'd far rather have Peter Andre in the lineup than another Gregg Wallace or Dominic Littlewood.

I agree with this, I understand why he evokes strong feelings in people but I've never been able to get that worked up about him. To me there are much worse 'celebs' out there and as you've said they've done worse than him on strictly - so in a way I'm quite looking forward to seeing this years marmite contestant, I know he'll probably be full of cliches but I've become immune to it now so I can handle it ....as long as he works hard, I'm willing to give him a chance.

I don't think Twitter is a good indication of a celebs popularity - at least as far as voting on reality shows goes - they've had some celebs on in the past with huge Twitter followings but it hasn't translated to them doing well on strictly.

not necessarily - Scott had 1.5 million when he took part

Granted Peter Andre is probably a better dancer than Scott but you never know!

I said on another thread, that along as he signs up for the tour - I think he'll get to the finals, but I don't think just because he's got a huge Twitter following it'll mean he's going to win - I wouldn't be surprised, because he's so polarising if he has one or two bottom two apprearances before the final.

Some fairer that others.

If it was a level playing field in terms of work ethic, ability, past experience, public profile then yes but as we know some go into the competition with significant advantage over others every year.

Which partner you end up with can be an utter hindrance or a total advantage. I'm sure every series we've had threads saying if only so and so had been partnered with so and so. I'm certain the pro dancers and the celebrities think it too. And of course some have even articulated in the past mentioning no Brendan Cole.

A man with rythm who should be able to make a decent stab at dancing. Sounds good to me. You can have the most loved / most credible bloke alive but if they're tone deaf and have two left feet it soon becomes boring.

I think he does have potential judging by this.

*shudders*....Poor Lilia that year. Her distaste was palpable

Here's another video of Peter dancing - watch from about 2:30. He's definitely got natural rhythm and a fanbase of some sorts - if he can manage to not wheel out his kids every week and not cry all the time, I think he could do very well indeed.

I can't stand Peter Andre to the point I won't be watching this series because of him. Really disappointed. He is on absolutely everything.

Well, I'm not his biggest fan or his biggest hater, I think i'm just going to take him as any other celeb doing Strictly and judge him on his dance ability (or lack of) and how he comes across on the show.

Just what I didn't want to hear . Is there anything this guy won't do to keep his profile in the media .

Or his ex missus for that matter.

Lots do . Richard Madeley has been asked many times . Those SCD producers keep pestering some celebs year after year .
