I would feel more encouraged by an article where Peter was saying he was finding the paso steps difficult. One about 'butching up' does not fill me with confidence that this is going to be a very technical performance. But then an article about learning steps would be less eye catching, I guess.

That's a point that's been debated for many years, and while there's no conclusive viewpoint I think the case for SCD being a dancing show rather than a celebrity show gets weaker every year. The ludicrous theming and unsuitable music choices (seemingly selected primarily to nod towards the contestants' career rather than their suitability for the dance itself) work specifically against the presentation of correct technique, and the dances are becoming less recognisable and more homogenous. Add to that the dominance of comedy VTs rather than training footage, and the overload of props and 'faffing' that now clutter every routine, and I thinks it's safe to suggest that with every series it moves further away from being about dancing and more towards being a celebrity spectacle.

what I should have said was "every year I can guarantee they'll be a negative thread about James Jordan as soon as Strictly starts" but I agree that personalities do count when I decide who I would like to win, which is why my favourite winners have been Alesha, Ramps and Louis and, hopefully, Jay this year.

It isn't a dance discussion forum, it's a TV forum (look at the link at the top of the page), and the title of the thread is "Peter Andre". As far as I can see, nothing on the thread is off topic, and contributors are not breaking any of the T and C's, so why would it be reported?

You may not like what is being posted, I sometimes don't like what is posted on these boards either, but as long as people are keeping to the rules they have a right to say what they think.

I have never said that the judge concluded anything incorrectly. How the hell do I know who said what, when and to who. What I have said is that there are other conclusions that could have been drawn. For lies, substitute confusion at not having been involved in the original admin. A lifetime's loyalty to Claire Powell - perhaps misplaced - that led to Andre being branded "an unreliable witness".... Unreliable perhaps because he isn't comfortable with lies. As for the dismissal of the tweets by the judge, I find that probably comes from him not using or even knowing much about Twitter, and the total harm it can and does cause. I doubt it's even on his radar up there in his ivory tower. Hendricks tweets were evil.

I remember seeing a programme with Peter Andre and some magician type bloke. A whole false scenario was created around a damaged wedding cake. The magician wanted him to lie to the customer. Andre couldn't. It was remarked upon by many people reviewing the programme, and confirmed by the programme makers as genuine. So liar, or misguided? I don't know, and nor does anyone else for certain. A judgement has been made, and we have to accept that, but it is still our right to raise questions about it.

However, the vicious delight being shown by people who's sole aim in life appears to be to despise Peter Andre, is horrible to see.

Beleive me I have posted on this thread BUT it's not my sole aim in life to despise PA, quite frankly I don't even do that, that's far too much emotion to invest in someone who is of passing interest in my life only because he showed up in a show I like.

Why is it you feel the need to not only defend PA but also insult other posters in doing so?

Extremely well said. Outside of SCD, Peter Andre is barely on my radar but the hatred some show towards him is baffling to me... like you say he may well have been simply misguided. Its quite possible that he is a liar but I don't know enough to decide, and I'm not entirely sure that I care. If he puts in some good performances I'll probably vote for him, although so far I haven't as I was a bit underwhelmed by his dancing.

It's already yesterday's news. I'm sure Peter has learned from the experience and moved on with his life. Just a shame others can't. I predict it will still be discussed until Xmas and beyond.......

Perhaps if he was on your radar then people's dislike of him wouldn't be quite so baffling.

And lying under oath - how can that ever be described as being "misguided"? If you are appearing as a witness is a court case then surely you would make sure you were absolutely certain of all the facts pertaining to your evidence? People's livelihoods were at stake here - as well as as the personal drama regarding the child - between CP and NH.

Hatred is an extremely strong word, I don't at all.

However I also care that people who win things are as far as I know decent people, this news shows he's not and hence no matter how well he dances I wouldn't ever vote for him.

To be honest it really doesn't fly the " quite possibly he is a liar " read the case if you have any doubts.

Difficult to butch up in a flowing wig and fancy dress . Even more so when like peter you are not very tall . Hopefully his technique makes up for any shortfall on the 'butch' front .Or it might be very butch .
Paso is one of my favourite dances to watch . I like the drama and story telling side of it and find it mesmerising if done well, hilarious if badly botched . We shall see which it is later .

My point of view is that I would hope it would have an effect on his voting as I would hate to think that how people behave off SCD has no effect on how they are perceived on SCD.

The only compatible case I can think of was Ricky Whittle and his run in with the law seemed to have an effect on his voting, because his dancing did not change.

Did the judges change there attitude towards him?

Note to Mods Just trying to lighten the mood. I was going to suggest Billy Elliott but ballet isn't included

for movie week his costume looks wicked. I think it's a whole heap better than Ainsley's. And he looks totally in the dance. I think this will be a good one for him.

Hard to tell - the next show he was in was the ill-fated Rock N Roll dance, so he didn't do that well that night - he was in the dance-off with Natalie Cassidy. The next night he had a wonderful foxtrot and v. good cha cha, but was in the dance-off with Laila. Other than the RNR, his comments were very good.

I doubt very much PA will drop to the dance-off this week, but running order and judges' comments will be very interesting. I imagine they'll keep him somewhere in the middle and with mediocre comments to avoid articles like "SCD Peter bounces back from court with leader-board topping dance", but it remains to be seen. He's been given a very crowd-pleasing character, but difficult music.

It will be discussed beyond Christmas for sure, the next court case is in the new year.

Last on again? Favouritism is sickening.
