I think at least three of the judges praised the "performance" but little mention was made of technique
And he was 5th on the leaderboard, which was about right.

And Peter seemed pleased with his marks, so everybody is happy, No?

The costume department really took the p**s...he looked dreadful and his performance really was'nt anything special. In fact it was rotten
Agree about the costume Disagree about the performance, l thought it was ok.

I wonder if Peter is actually a bit relieved at home well Jay, Kellie and Helen are doing so he is no longer the outright favourite and the one that seems to have the expectation to be the best each week.
I would be, if l were him. He didn't ask to be bookies favourite

I do think the costume held him back personally, so think he did well under the circumstances. You couldn't see his 'paso' face at all or his neckline. The soft boots seemed to be stopping him doing the stamp - which he's done before so capable of. It was just too distracting as well - much like the animal ones. The dance wasn't tough enough for a pirate, didn't seem to fit. It wan't his best but the thing I like about Pete is he really does want to learn, really listens and takes on board what the judges say. I hope Jeanette works at fixing his top line a bit (he needs some help from Ian Waite) but he's doing fine.

Yes I wouldn't say his performance was dreadful by any means,a bit stompy like I've said before but it was entertaining which the judges said, but I am confused as to why the judges don't pull Peter up on his arms or technique

Agree about the costume but he seemed to enjoy it didn't he?!

BIB

He was hardly likely to say "The judges undermarked me. What do they know about what the public want us to do to entertain them?"

In a way the fact that he and Janette's performance was nothing special on Saturday might help him. Basically he needs to ground himself in the basics and get them right and not be tempted by Janette's desire for a show dance. It's fine when it works but as we saw with Jake last year it goes wrong as often as it works. Peter now has a chance to improve his game whilst the spotlight is on Jay who will now be subject to more critical scrutiny.

As Peter's own tour has just been announced starting February next, I imagine it's unlikely he will be taking part in the Strictly one.

I thought I was going to find him an irritating TV-hungry zeleb.
Don't listen to pop and have a medically certified allergy to "reality" TV.
But, much to my surprise I actually don't find him too nauseating.

That makes sense, as he said to Claudia, something along the lines, that he hoped to learn things for the future. So will he be putting in some proper dance moves for his show??? Or upping his profile??

The Strictly tour usually ends in early - middle of Feb so I wouldn't rule him out atm.

That's a reasonably competent beginner doing the steps of the paso, no gurning.

The trouble may of the miserable begrudgers have is that they simply are unable to provide anything to support their exaggerated claims.
Just say something like " I have an irrational and slightly obsessive hatred which I can't can't control so I pop onto the Internet to vent. "
Then undo a button or two and youre fine.

I'm the same, he's ok. I was expecting far worse. I don't know much about him really.
It seems this makes me a besotted fan.

Just noticed that we are not supposed to comment on anything happening on the 'other' Peter Andre thread in the showbiz part of the forum.
But what I will say is that what is happening in a celeb's private life is bound to affect their performance, even if only a little bit.
Perhaps that's why his makeup was so thick - it hid any facial expressions quite nicely....

That Paso was poor and, despite costume problems mentioned, could have been done an awful lot better.

I wasn't sure if his makeup was inspired by Johnny Depp or Claudia.

He did Ella. Regarding his technique, Craig did say something about it on Lens lens

Darcey, Craig and Bruno all criticcised Peter's technique as part of their comments as judges during the show. Bruno said that he didn't have the proper paso stance or the proper paso lines, Craig told him he lost his neck and needed to raise his chest, and Darcey told him he was "dumpy" during his mirroring. Len also made a joke about Peter's stomping sinking the ship that could have been taken as criticism.

I'm quite pleased to see the pressure taken off Peter. Now we will perhaps see what he's capable of.....or not! That, for me is what it's all about.

I have a family member who is involved in a competitive sport. He is really good and almost always backed to be the winner. He absolutely hates it, and has often said it hinders rather than enhances his performance.

That's probably because he hasn't been to dance school for years to learn it.
