It would have been better in the correct thread but thanks Terry, glad you're back on the forum.

This is how I feel about Peter Andre, does it make me a bad person -no just me with my own opinion of some one on the TV I really cannot watch,

But I also do hope for his followers especially if he's good that he goes far,I have my burden liking Mark Wright last year (I know...I know ) so what do I know!

What a nasty post I couldn't just leave it as it sticks out like a sore thumb on what is just a chat about Andre and his dancing where as yours is personal towards the poster, and not been funny Aurora but I've only seen Arts posting skills for the last 4years having joined here in 2011 so I'm not quite sure how you seem to have known what's she's been posting for 6 years
No need for posts like this, especially when it's a SCD thread -sorry anyone to go off topic

Watched SCD this morning, obviously had to see PA as he's in it but I like Georgia -what a pretty girl,
Peter was good il be interested to see who is bookies favourites after a few weeks,

Yes very odd, the 6 years comment since the FM has only been posting since 2014, oh well I suppose they could have been lurking for 5 years.
Anyway back on topic..........
There's no denying PA was pretty good on the launch show but as someone pointed out to me over the weekend, ballroom isn't really Janette Manrara's strong point. PA has obviously been training very hard which is his prerogative. However will he be able to keep this level of training up as, imo, he's always came across as very easily bored & pretty lazy & not forgetting, clumsy.
Therefore he may excel at Latin but could ballroom be his downfall? We all know what a stickler Uncle Len can be in that discipline.

Andre is one of the biggest cheeseballs ever to grace Strictly - and let's face it cheeseballs are a Strictly speciality - but he did seem to have good musicality from what I saw in the opening show. We shall see how well he transfers this to the demands of different dances over the next few weeks but I'm looking forward to seeing how I respond to him if he turns out to be a good dancer whilst continuing to serve up slice after slice of sweaty cheese.

Agree with the above, he seems good so far but there was a section when he was stood with a small group of celebrities behind Tess or Claud and he was staring straight into camera almost without blinking whilst the other contestants where smiling and looking at something off camera Pete looked unnatural.

I think he's in danger as coming across as wanting to win it too much, it will be interesting to watch him keep up his sincere cheesy persona if he doesn't make it to the top of the judges' leaderboard.

eww nothing worse than BIB

You're right SCD is a cheese ball feast you only have to look at Mark Wright last year who was slaughtered on social media for being fake and cheesy but he turned out a very good dancer I was hoping he would have won

I feel the same, I find him very cheesy and my friends and I have already thought it might be a good drinking game to see how many times he says he's doing it for his kids =1shot. "I love my kids"=1 shot. Both at the same time? double shot! I have a feeling I'll be legless if we do by the end of his first dance He could prove me wrong, not mention them much and turn out to be a great dancer and do well, as long as he holds back on the cheddar.

Oh dear seems I forgot that there are some on here who take everything literally !! Of course I'm not going to throw things at the TV fools it's called an "expression of speech" sorry I will remember in future that some people are incapable of interpreting something that is said and take everything literally.

I've never watched any of Peter Andre's reality tv shows and I don't read magazines, but he lived very close to us when he was married to Katie Price and we used to see them around shopping, at the kids gym club, local events etc and the pair of them were always very pleasant and 'ordinary'.

I always got the impression she wore the trousers (he'd be left outside in the car with the kids when she went in the shops etc) but he was quite laid back, chatty and good natured.
He's moved about 10 miles away now, but my son has recently had quite regular contact with him through his work and says he's extremely polite, helpful and a good laugh.

Perhaps he just knows what phrases to pull out to keep himself sweet with the more gullible members of the public.

I think you are so right. Very astute observation.

I think he will work his pert 40-something ass off, but suspect if things do not go his way he will have some delightful hissy fits. He has always had an air of desperation about him and I imagine his ego was wounded by the shannigans of being married to Jordan. He will have very thin skin and a huge need for back patting.

He also has a very expensive household to pay for. He needs to get this right.

I think so too, although presumably all the other contestants probably want to win as well, so he's hardly alone in that. At the moment he's coming across as wanting it too much. I got the impression he thought he only has to turn up every week and he's a dead cert for the glitterball.

Are you sure he was actually staring in to the camera , and not just checking his reflection to make sure his 'hair' hadn't come unglued when he ran up the stairs?

Agree with all of this, particularly the BIB ( although you could have omitted any mention of the word 'pert' in relation to Peter ).
I think the desperation might be his undoing.
I know Strictly is a dancing show, but personality and popularity play a huge part, and if Peter doesn't do some serious self-editing he could be in trouble. It seems like he is quite a divisive character with the public, so I think he will need to tone down the cheese considerably if he wants to appeal to the floating voters.

The floating voters are going to love the chemistry between them.

His first day of training appears to have gone well

@JManrara: Wow, wow, wow! What an incredible day that was @MrPeterAndre! Really! So much fun, passion, & dedication! I'm a very happy Strictly Pro! 😊

I wonder how many weeks the BBC will leave it until they drift Katie Price into the audience if not every week.

I don't know very much about him. I don't follow any of those celeb gossip things.

He seems a nice enough person and, more importantly, he seems to be a good dancer.

I'll decide whether I am going to support/vote for him based on his performance each week. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Ah I see.
That would certainly explain the dress sense.

I'm not sure this is particularly remarkable.
It's all about positive spin isn't it?
I doubt very much that any of the professional dancers would ever tweet that their celebrity was an unpleasant lazy oaf with two left feet who couldn't dance if their life depended on it.

My guess would be to believe what the pro wrote in this case, I think if they've had a bad day they would not go out of their way to make it sound so positive.
