Already talking in mystery tones in that we will be drip fed a contrived back story which seems to be the case with the current producer.

A lot of people seem to be hanging on this story as some kind of saving grace for the show.

However again its a producer favourite character that maybe was best left in the era that she belonged to. Also I assume a few axings to free up cash for her salary

I am fully expecting to be let down as with all stuff in Eastenders.

If it a let down I assume this producer will have to go.

The first two appearances were ok. The storyline should of started this week, but it seems we get a weeks worth and then a bit more mid September, with Ian finally seeing her in early October. It would of worked if it had all lkicked off this week but they are taking the p**s a bit if you ask me. It is too spread out. The wait would of been worth it but it is getting really, really annoying.

I'm already losing interest.

BIB I bet he's the only one who knows how all these stories end, thus guaranteeing him a job for the next few years.

To be honest this thread is just typical of the forums at the moment. There is absolutely nothing wrong with drip feeding the viewers info and slowly unravelling the plot.

We know Kathy is alive. Phil is giving her money to get away from Gavin but we still don't know what the two of them did to fake their deaths.

It's building up nicely and clearly being plotted to coincide with Ian and Jane reaching breaking point with their own secret.

We'll get the meat of the story around Easter 2017

I totally agree. If Kathy came and revealed everything it would be boring then as we would know everything. It just takes a little patience.

Besides, it was obvious that we wouldn't know all the details until Ian finds out. He will want an explanation, so I am sure we will find out more then.

I think the drip feed is better, Years ago when most soaps were on twice a week storylines developed over weeks and months sometimes years, Then at some point they started adding more and more episodes and storylines seemed to be mostly a week or two with little pay off meaning the quality went downhill.

Idk there is plenty of scope with this storyline to keep me excited for the moment. I'm looking forward to the reveal when Ian + Ben and others find out she is still alive. Should be fantastic viewing.

However, I am wary. Will Kathy as a character still be good in a year or two's time? so many of the great characters who have come back in recent years (Sharon, stacey, kat + alfie, ronnie) have been dissapointing so I hope this isn't what will happen with Kathy.

Oh dear. If they're hoping this is going to save the show, I might just give up now. I just couldn't care less about this storyline.

Be prepared to be disappointed, is all I'll say.

I understand if you're not enjoying the show but it's not in any way needing to be saved.

I don't see anything wrong with how the storyline is running. I'm excited by it and am really enjoying it. The 'drip-feeding' as it's being described is fine for me - it's building anticipation and increasing excitment. I prefer when storylines are long-running and aren't rushed. There seems to be plenty here to stop it all going stale but it does seem the popular thing to do on this forum of late is to completely trash all storylines before they are started and automatically assume they will let people down. At the moment there's a culture of bashing Eastenders for drip-feeding storylines, all the while bashing Corrie for having their storylines wrapped up too quickly. Why not wait until you've had a good insight into what the storyline actually is before slating it, and try to enjoy the show for what it is instead of wishing for the end of every storyline to come immediately?!

Why not give it a chance? It might be bollocks, it might be brilliant, it might be brilliant bollocks! I'm not the current team's biggest fan but it seems a tad unfair to write off future stories before they've really begun.

This is it in a nutshell.
