iTunes update 12.2.2

Can anyone tell me if this update is just to fix the bugs from the 12.2 upgrade that caused a lot of problems?

Because after reading this article I decided to give it a miss. I am still on v 12.1.2.27

So do I need update 12.2.2, or should I just ignore it?
