Peter Andre says he hopes to perform to his own music on Strictly Come Dancing this year.


The singer is one of nine confirmed celebrities for this year's Strictly Come Dancing 2015 line up as things stand.

And speaking to Free Radio about his decision to sign up, Peter revealed he'd love to dance to his own songs during the live shows.

"I’m gonna do a Mysterious twirl to Mysterious Girl, with a mysterious girl, and I don’t straighten my hair so I’ve got a mysterious curl – I’ve got it," he joked.

As for the OP's question, initially I was a nay, however since he's actually doing it, I won't allow him to ruin my favourite show so the only way forward is to enjoy & embrace the comedy value I think he'll bring.

Could be worse though.
Admittedly we will have to suffer him and his singing. BUT, thankfully he managed to take Dr Private and Natural up the aisle, so we will be spared a nauseating fauxmance between the orange love machine and whichever poor unsuspecting pro that gets lumbered with him.



I was a nay all the way too.
But the comedy potential of him dad dancing his way back to mediocrity is too good to miss.
He's hardly a stranger to a bit of fake tan is he? Wasn't he sponsored by Ronseal at some point? Maybe he got confused because the make up department told him he was wearing too much of it and needed to wash it off.

what does this mean - are you seriously having a go at his wife? she's not a celebrity is she? i can't think of any other contestant who's partner has been the subject of nastiness before the show even starts...

Emily is sold as part of the Pa package. He and his fans describes her as lovely and natural, and he has often stated (in paid for interviews, somewhat ironically) that she wishes to be private...even though she happily poses with his other children in paid for photo shoots, implying that she is not as private as has been stated. I assume this is to create a contrast with his ex-wife in his usual passive-aggressive way.

So, she is not really being attacked, more held up as a paragon we should all aspire to, as per her husband's words.

The comedy value, the comedy value.....



Honestly, I was more than a bit miffed when I first found out Peter Andre was going to be sliming himself all over my absolute favourite programme. But for me, Strictly is as much about the entertainment/comedy aspect as it is about the dancing.
And you can't tell me you won't be able to raise a tiny smile at the thought of Peter doing a sexy rumba to Mysterious Girl. Or doing an impression of an overwrought toddler having a tantrum during a paso doble?

It's very peculiar isn't it . I've never seen this before on Strictly either and I can't fathom what is going on .

It's an opportunity to slag off Peter Andre and his wife and family. The Peter threads in Showbiz keep getting closed/deleted.

I don't really have any strong feelings about Peter, after initially being horrified at the thought of him doing strictly, I'm actually quite looking forward to him now.......,however, he does put himself out there by selling his private life, and anyone who does that is bound to attract scorn and criticism.

Maybe he does but as the poster above said, his wife is not a celebrity and shouldn't be a subject of nastiness on this thread.

I didn't read any nastiness towards his children, at least not on this thread, I think the criticism was more of Andre using them in photo shoots. I think the comment about his wife was more about the contradiction in Andre's statement of her wanting to be private yet appearing with him in these photo shoots for publicity purposes.

Anyone who has their wedding serialised in OK magazine and trailered in the Sidebar of Shame has a very tenuous grasp on the claim to privacy.

I don't actually think Peter's wife has been subjected to nastiness.
But you cannot have it both ways. Either his wife is not a celebrity - in which case she shouldn't participate in photo shoots and television programmes, or she is a celebrity by default because she participates in photo shoots and television programmes.
Unfortunately anyone who is in the public eye will attract criticism as well as praise. But I can't see any where on this thread where she has been criticised.
Perhaps we should wait until Strictly actually starts, and see how many times Mrs Andre appears in the hilarious comedy videos before any of us pass judgement.

As for his children, they should not be subjected to criticism at all. Ever.
In my opinion, none of us should be able to recognise them. But this thread isn't about them, and nor should it be.
