I don't actually think Peter's wife has been subjected to nastiness.
But you cannot have it both ways. Either his wife is not a celebrity - in which case she shouldn't participate in photo shoots and television programmes, or she is a celebrity by default because she participates in photo shoots and television programmes. Unfortunately anyone who is in the public eye will attract criticism as well as praise. But I can't see any where on this thread where she has been criticised. Perhaps we should wait until Strictly actually starts, and see how many times Mrs Andre appears in the hilarious comedy videos before any of us pass judgement. As for his children, they should not be subjected to criticism at all. Ever. In my opinion, none of us should be able to recognise them. But this thread isn't about them, and nor should it be. |

It's the rinse and repeat nature that is wearisome. Perhaps it's new to you all this Pete stuff. At least the attack lines are going to get a massive boast this autumn. Expect minute analysis of every appearance / VT / utterance.
Neither of which is true. Cannot wait for the DadDanceOff to begin.... ![]()

as far as i can tell she is not a media personality and not every spouse who ever appears in photos with their celeb partner gets subject to the sort of rules and edicts you're dishing out here like a panjandrum. Either /or.
i can only assume you must really really hate him. ![]() ![]() She is praised by him(and others) for being private (for which read - not like his ex) and yet she appears in glossy mag photo shoots/side bar of shame pap shots and in the various pictures he is compelled to put out there. To me, one person who sells their nuptials to OK is pretty much like another - and private wouldn't be the first word that springs to mind. |

i can only assume you must really really hate him. ![]() You assume wrongly. And rather rudely. If you want to blame someone for Mrs Andre being thrust against her will into the spotlight, blame her husband. He's the one who keeps dragging the poor woman into photo shoots, on to television programmes and keeps wittering about her at every opportunity. Not me. Of course I don't hate him. No one could hate someone who has given us so many moments of genuine comedic genius. I am genuinely looking forward to seeing him strutting his stuff on the dance floor. I love a bit of dad-dancing.

I thought she must be some kind of floozie known for dating footballers or a marriage wrecker, or at least in show business , but a doctor ? She will no doubt appear, so will his kids, because ALL the partners appear and all the children appear in VTs at some point . So what ? Had to google panjandrum . Good word . |

Oh, I don't hate him at all. I just find him and his many contradictions mildly amusing but trying to fitting the 'private' peg into the '2 week spread in OK magazine' hole is always going to be problematical.

anyway, this has been a bit like stumbling into a one direction fan club meeting and saying the wrong thing, all a bit intense for me, so i'll leave you all to it. enjoy the show.

surely you mean "Dr Private and Natural" who you've given a sarcastic nickname to as a means of demonstrating just how much you don't want to have a go at her, except for how her husband keeps making you?

Interesting how these threads always end up with the same game - those who don't fall for Pa's shtick somehow being the topic of intense discussion, rather than Pa and the people HE puts up for sale, and scrutiny.
Anyroadup, how many of his own songs do you think he will dance to? Posters should never be the topic. *yawn* |

Could be worse though.
Admittedly we will have to suffer him and his singing. BUT, thankfully he managed to take Dr Private and Natural up the aisle, so we will be spared a nauseating fauxmance between the orange love machine and whichever poor unsuspecting pro that gets lumbered with him. I was a nay all the way too. But the comedy potential of him dad dancing his way back to mediocrity is too good to miss. He's hardly a stranger to a bit of fake tan is he? Wasn't he sponsored by Ronseal at some point? Maybe he got confused because the make up department told him he was wearing too much of it and needed to wash it off. https://twitter.com/gleb_savchenko/s...06405844312064

You might just be eating your words soon. Gleb, one of the pro dancers seems rather impressed
https://twitter.com/gleb_savchenko/s...06405844312064I'll eat nothing. Yet. ![]() I'll be honest with you Jerrybot, I don't like Peter Andre. ( And that's "don't like". Not "hate" or think he's worse than Hitler and Genghis Khan put together ). But I love Strictly, and I'd like to think I can be reasonably objective. I do think that in some ways he will be at an advantage, and may be quite good at some of the dances - he's a musician, so although I think his music is an assault to the senses, he must have at least a modicum of rhythm. - I don't know whether he has done live TV before, but he has performed in front of audiences before. - presumably he dances in his shows, so he will be used to learning choreography. However, I think for me his main problem will be the combination of his personality and his delusions about himself. He thinks he is cool, and he thinks he is sexy. And I don't. So whilst he probably thinks he should be in the group of young(ish) men - with Jay and Anthony, for me, he is in the middle-aged dad dancing group with Daniel O'Donnell and Jeremy Vine. Sorry, but that's just what I think. Feel free to disagree.

He might be used to choreography but I would imagine the dancing he performs at his gigs is relatively simple compared to what he'll have to learn for Strictly. Plus, can he cope with training hours needed to learn a new dance every week, I think initially he'll give it his all but a few weeks in & he'll struggle to keep up with the work schedule required. Oh for sure he thinks he's sexy & cool, it won't even have entered his head that he could possibly be a Dad dancer. |

I hadn't actually thought about the difference between learning choreography for a music gig and learning choreography for a variety of different dance styles, but you could well be right. I still think that for the first few weeks at least he will do comparatively well because he will have an advantage over some of the non-performers like Jeremy. I think that some people may have misinterpreted my use of the words 'dad dancing' as an insult. They could not be more wrong. I LOVE a bit of dad dancing - much to my mum's shame my own dad used to indulge in a bit of dad dancing on a fairly regular basis. If Peter does turn out to be a dad dancer, I may well surprise myself and start liking him a tiny tiny tiny bit. Stranger things have happened.

Really looking forward to it now. Quote:
Yep. I'll be very surprised if he doesn't have dance ability, and I'm sure, like the majority of contestants, he'll have been getting some serious practice in, but he's not remotely in the 'hottie' category. Nothing to do with his age, just him.
Who knows, either way, I'm looking forward to seeing him. I'm expecting at least one topless dance

Really looking forward to it now. I know he'll have some dance abilty, Viva but I can't help but think when it comes to dances, for eg Viennese Waltz he'll struggle, he always comes across as quite clumsy & impatient? Who knows, either way, I'm looking forward to seeing him. I'm expecting at least one topless dance ![]() O/T I had a really strange dream a couple of nights ago where Jeremy Vine and Peter Andre were in a car parked outside my house. I went out to see what they wanted and they just drove off. |

Agree, BEL. I think he'll do very well on some dance styles but may struggle with others. But I do think he'll give it his all and, as someone who watches Strictly for the 'all', I'm happy to wait and see how he does.

Height-wise, it looks like Peter could dance with pros up to Aliona's height (5' 5"), which I think only rules out Natalie and Oti.

![]() Now that's what I call dad dancing. If Peter does the groovy hitchhiker I would definitely vote for him. But if he does the grab and thrust I will sue him and the BBC for emotional trauma. ( I know it's nothing to do with this thread, but have a look at Michelle Obama doing mum dancing - she's absolutely fantastic ).
