I imagine EE's 200GB sims are the reason Vodafone are doing this. It's not quite as good, on EE you would get 101GB + 100GB for 2 months for £10, on Vodafone you have to spent at least £20 and you get 52GB for 30 days, although you'll also have 500 mins and unl texts.

It's a significant amount of data and a great way to extensively test out Vodafone's 4G network. Even a £40 topup would only normally give you 6GB.

All info:

Some quick info:
1. You can redeem this offer up until the 30th September
2. You don't need a new sim, just buy a Big Value Bundle that costs at least £20
3. You can buy the £10 Big Value Bundle and get 50GB extra data, but it will be 3G only.

Shame non of these Data allowances are permanent

I'd be more impressed by a network if it offered a MBB sim with a similar capacity on a 30 day rolling / 12 month contract, even if it was offered at a slightly higher price.

Unfortunately it seems that non of the networks have enough faith in their own network capacity to go there, longer term.

These promotions are okay I guess, it would great if they then converted them into actual package offerings rather than just focusing solely on customer numbers. Both EE and Vodafone are doing this now to which none of these networks offer anywhere near what these promo deals offer. It's all a bit silly really. EE have done their 100GB x 2 promo 4 times now yet haven't delivered anything package wise, top end still being 20GB data on a phone plan.

I agree that UK mobile operators certainly have room for improvement in this area, the biggest mobile BB data allowance I can see is with EE on sim-only (30 day contract) at £30 for 25GB per month (also with dongles/mi-fi for longer contracts or upfront fees) while 3 UK have 20GB a month for £23 a month, or £21 a month if you commit for 12 months. Whereas in the Irish Republic, you can get 30GB a month currently with Meteor for a 6 month contract for under £18 while 3 IRL have a 60GB package with a 12 month minimum contract for a shade under £30 with the current exchange rates - plus you could use it in the UK at no extra cost.

ID Mobile also offer a 20GB data sim on a rolling 30 day contract, slightly cheaper than '3' at £20 a month, it also uses the '3uk' network running on both 3G and 4G (where locally available). Of course signing up to them all depends on whether you trust them with your data after the recent CPW fiasco.

So it's not 4G

You've misread it. The £20 bundle we are talking about is 4G.

What are the chances of passing a credit check for 3IRL with a uk address and just using it over here with 3 like home??

I was thinking the same thing, but I doubt that they would consider a UK address for a contract subscription or regular payments made to them from a UK bank account, In addition, isn't feel like home restricted to a data usage limit of 25GB per month?.

I get the feeling they would just reject the application and refer you to 3UK

EE have a 50GB mobile BB plan for £50/month, but it isn't advertised on their website for some reason.

Feel at Home is restricted to 3 months in a FaH country max.

This offer is intended to be used by UK residents travelling abroad, and Three reserves the right to suspend the service in the event the UK allowance is used exclusively abroad for three (3) months within a twelve (12) month period.

Three do with their permanent AYCE data packages.

Which would be a good point, if my entire post hadn't have been entirely focused on Mobile Broadband tariffs.

As it stands, Three's offerings in relation to MBB tariffs aren't impressive.

But as I was replying to the 1st paragraph of your post, my reply that three are the only ones that offer a lot of data each and every month on an ever permanent basis on a PAYG mobile phone sim is an accurate statement.

And as this thread is about promotional offers of tonnes of data for a full month on PAYG it was fair for me to mention three's PAYG offerings in comparison to EE and vodafone.

Sure you can tether 100% on EE's 2 x 100GB promotional offer (possibly on vodafone's + 50GB promotional offer?) but that doesn't mean they are officially MBB's. But I couldn't care less about tethering anyway as I am on three's PAYG AYCE package at £20 per month.

I've just bought a Voda PAYG sim and topped up £10 and bought a bundle. How do you get the 50GB allowance? Is there a number I can text?

I don't know if the £10 bundle will get you 4G or not but the £20 bundle definitely does.

Get the bundle, ring up CS and get 4G activated if needs be and you use your bought allowance first before it transitions onto the 50gb data.

I noticed that after I had used up the 2gb allowance I had bought, the Internet stopped working altogether so I rang CS up again and they bolted on the 50gb. Bare in mind the free data will not show up so unless you are using any usage tracker of your own, you will have no other way of finding out how much you've used. Android have a data usage tracker built in so you can just use that.

Not sure about iPhones but I'm sure someone has built an app for this prime purpose.

Hope this helps.

Thank you. The offer works on the tenner bundle, but it's 50GB of 3g which would do me. I've already ordered the bundle, and there is 500MB to play with.

Zero. Ireland is a foreign country. You'll have no credit history there.

I spoke to an agent via their website - the 50GB is automatically added with purchase of
their all in one bundles.

Thanks everyone for their help.
