Haven't a clue who any of the female participants are..not a scooby.

Regarding the males, I think it's cool so far. Ainsley Harriot,Peter Andre and Daniel O'D..... Cheesiness personafied... the female pros must be quaking in their dancing shoes

I am feeling a little disappointed thus far.

With the exceptions of Jeremy Vine and Ainsley I feel very little interest. I don't watch soaps nowadays and i'm not a Peter Andre or Daniel O'Donnell fan. Today they have announced some boxer who i've never heard of.

I hope they announce someone interesting next week!

I hear ya Capt James..as bad as the calibre of male contestant is...at least I know some of them. It's sad, but I haven't a clue who any of the female contestants are. Perhaps it'll make it more interesting....no pre conveived ideas.

I think Ainsley, Anthony and Peter will all dance very well actually. Jeremy could ace Ballroom. Daniel I am chomping at the bit to see actually. He could be a disaster.

Georgia and Katie will both do very well I think for the women. Carol won't be at that level, but I cannot WAIT to see her dance. She is so lovely, and I think could go a fair way into the midst of the competition. Kellie is an unknown for me...she looked slightly ropey in the EastEnders meets Grease dance...heck even Annette Badland looked more animated...but she could also easily lend herself to this type of dancing well, and surprise me.

Excited for the remaining seven! Three or four 20-30s please, followed by a 40 or two (likely Gok Wan) and one or two 60+

I like Jeremy Vine, I think he'll do well in ballroom, and hoping for good things from Georgia and Peter because they're obviously going to be in the final. None of the rest appeal much, especially Ainsley and Daniel. I pity the Pro's that get those two. Let's hope the rest are younger because it's top heavy at the moment with oldies. At least there aren't any over 60's yet so that's hopefully going to remain the same.

Absolutely agree. Very disappointed. Think both Andre and O'Donnell are trying to resurrect their flagging careers. Really hope there are some contestants to get excited about.

i've never heard of many of them, and know others only by name, but thats always been the case and i usually find a few i quite like in the context of the show. often that seems to infuriate people who imagine they know the celebs better and feel entitled to tell others who to dis/like. i expect this year will be the same...

Watch out for peter andre

Jay McGuiness - plenty of dance experience. Maybe a bit more dance experience than I would like, but if you have too much of a lead going in, it can count against you.
I'd rate him as a good signing. Should make for some good to brilliant dances - depending on the pro he is paired with.

I quite like the line-up. Would love to see Helen George, a female sportswoman, an older woman and Alan Titchmarsh complete the line-up.

I am most excited to see Daniel as I think he'll be hilarious to watch (good and bad), can't wait for Carol and Katie, Ainsley and Anthony should do well. Jay and Georgia will probably both be amazing. I think it'll be a lot of fun as always!
