Well done, I feel it will be a big help.
I've not tried it but used to eat too much sugar. I don't have any health issues, apart from mild arthritis and wasn't particularly overweight. I could've done with losing a stone but was happy eating what I wanted. I don't have a huge appetite, I like to graze.
After hearing so much about too much sugar being as bad as too much fat and watching a programme where one of the Van Tulleken doctors was put on a high fat diet and the other on a high sugar diet for a couple of months. By the end of that time they'd both put on weight but the one on the high sugar diet had become pre-diabetic. I used to wonder if by having too much sugar I may develop diabetes.
That made me cut right down on sugar. At the same time I started eating more vegetables. After about 9 months I'd lost just over a stone. I do eat a little more sugar than when I first cut down but no longer have sugar on my cereal every morning and no longer drink fizzy drinks; I've still cut down on the amount of cake and sweets I eat. I eat porridge nearly every day without sugar/honey/syrup. Also as a result of changing my diet my cholesterol went down to 4.2 from 6.8!
