Three+Giffgaff up now to £20 unlim data
ok, been with giffgaff a few years now and been on their £15 unlimited data goodybag which is about to go up to £20.
So i ordered a Three sim and put into my dual sim phone and got a £15 unlim data add on, only to be sent a text saying it going up to £20. Whats the cheapest network now offering unlimited data or at least a good whack of data? I see on other thread about Vodafone big bundles offer but thats min of £20 also, I guess £20 is the norm now ? |

Three is better than giffgaff, giffgaff is an mvno with the lowest priority on o2 the network they piggyback on. Three is not an mvno. Three allows 1TB softcap on their unlimited plans while on giffgaff if you regularly go over 8 to 10GB per month they ban you. O2 is slownas hell on 3G with top priority giffgaff will be worse.
For £20 PAYG top up I would go with Three over giffgaff because Three has their own masts control over their network and doesn't ban users for using data above 8-10GB per month on unlimited plans. |

Giffgaff do allow tethering though, which is a plus point in there favour.

Giffgaff slows you down to dialup once you've used your unlimited allowance of 4GB though right, they also block tethering at that point.

Well yes, but it's a 6 gig limit and 256 kbps after that, which is quite a bit faster than dial up, but you are basically right.

'Networks' like giffgaff and virgin mobile should be banned from using the term unlimited when they are clearly misleading.
I don't even know who is worse giffgaff or virgin. |

I don't even know who is worse giffgaff or virgin. coverage slow as hell you may as well give your money away they should be banned as a network. Don't even have a custom service you have to do everything on there forum. I was with them a few years back and still have the sim with a few pence still on it I give it ago now and then and it's still as bad as it was a few years ago if not even worse. My Advise is Stay well Clear. OP Go with three so much better. |

I don't even know who is worse giffgaff or virgin. Even now with Virgin offering only 3GB for £15 PAYG, provided you don't exceed consuming 3GB of data your credit balance is not reduced by data consumption, only by making telephone calls at an extortionate rate. You don't even have to buy an add on to deduct from your credit balance to receive your 3GB (ex unlimited) data with virgin. As long as you top up before the end of each month to begin at 1st of the next month to last for 30 days. |
