Programme listings now available on Digiguide.
This channel gets a couple of mentions in Radio Times again. I'm wondering if they'll add it in to the movie pages soon.

In a nutshell it means the Freeview transmission is better as it's using MPEG4.
Only in theory. Yes the channel is on a DVB-T2 mux and compressed using H264/AVC. Only those on specific main power transmitter can view COM7. The garbage in./garbage out still applies. The channel uses the blurry vision 544 x 576 resolution. H264/AVC will more faithfully reproduce the poor input, which might even make it look worse.

Basically you cannot make a silk purse out of a sows ear. On a large screen TV it's going to look poor on either platform.

It's a good channel to have, I'm enjoying it.

All the movies are British, but their are some old American tv series as well.

It's noticeable how a lot of the British post war films in the 50s felt American, it's a bit odd watching them, you know they are in Britain, but it feels like an American movie.

I hope they keep most of the content to British films and not start showing American b movies.

It would be great if they could show British TV programmes from the 50s/60s as well.

British B movies of the post war 1950s era quite often featured a male American actor in the leading role. This tactic was employed by the producers so that the film could be marketed/sold to the US more easily.

I have noticed that Talking Pictures has started to show a few Children Film Foundation movies that were part of Saturday Morning Pictures at the cinema back in the seventies!

Actually, they show American films all the time. They're typically on at night between 9pm and 6pm. To date they've shown a load of low budget sci fi films, some horrors and thrillers from the 1970s and 1980s, and also teen high school comedies from the 1980s. Also some biker, car chase, and drag racing films. Occasionally an American oldie will be shown in the day too (I've watched The Stranger and Blood on the Sun on there).
