I've just signed up to BT, only to find that I'm not allowed a password longer than 8 characters, and I have to start it with a letter and can't include more than one number or one symbol.

Does BT want my or other customers accounts to be hacked?

The length of password and lack of complexity is not good enough, and the fact that BT's password strength metre tells me that my password is strong, is ridiculous.

Thats strange as my password is all of those things. Never had a problem when I signed up with them or signing in to my account...

Are you sure OP?
My BT password is 11 characters long and includes 4 numbers.

My password is 17 characters long, includes 4 numbers and the words aren't in English.

If you need 8 characters try Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs..................... I'll get my hat!

Something wrong there mine is much longer and starts with a number.

I'm going o see if I can change it, but during sign up it told me that I couldn't enter a password greater than 8 characters, couldn't start with a number and was only allowed one number or one symbol in the password, which is ****ed up. Also, the password metre told me that the password was strong.

Well it's now allowed me to put in a lengthy, complex password so it's all good now.
