On holiday recently, saw a band busking in the street, playing soul/r'n'b covers like Crazy and Respect. They were a proper band, drums, bass, guitar, brass, accordion (!) and vocals and sounded really good.
Anyway, one of the songs they covered had a chorus that went something like

where doobie etc are actual words, and it's an upbeat jazzy groove.
Can't think of who did the original. Can anyone help?
