I fancy the £5 package 17mb plus £17.99 line rental. It says a free £75 voucher and mentions a box for £49 quid is this a good deal? Do they throw in the entire sports package with this?

Got a letter from BT yesterday, am with Virgin at present, will see what BT can do compared to Virgin.
I paid £49 for the Youview box.
Then £5 a month for the Essential package including all the BT Sport Channels and AMC.
Could of got all for free but I also wanted the recording features.

A BT starter box maybe ok for some but I like the Idea of being able to record TV programmes. For there are still a few channels that still don't have a catch up TV service.
Also channels that do have catch up there is always one or two programmes that don't seem to be offered via catch up.
I'm happy with the BT G4 Youview box for the BT TV and Freeview service.
The older style BT Youview box I now just use as a Freeview PVR and for the free catch up players that it offers.

Do they charge you extra to record like Sky?
It says add BT sport for free to watch online or app. I want to see it via to though how does that work?

BT don't change any extra to record. You need have one of the BT TV packages for to get free BT Sports on the TV.
Also BT sport in HD is only via BT Infinity.

Ok but do they send a viewing card out for the channel or a free box of some kind?

Youview don't use viewing cards. BT just activate the channels from whatever package you take and its registered to your BT line and account.
If you take anything other than the BT starter package then a free BT Youview G4 box will be sent to you and you will pay a one of fee to activate the service. Then your package monthly fee after that.

So you get a non record box for free and you pay for a Youview one how much is that per month?
Also I believe you can get BT Sport lite does it come with AMC now? And I see you can get it with Freesat from Sky if you take out BT broadband maybe this is better than me paying for a Youview one?
I notice BT Sport lite is free via a Sky box of you take broadband but if you tick full sports package it's free but extra £5 for it via Sky and the connection fee for Lite is about £6 but £49 for the entire package which says monthly cost free? Bit confusing so are both free but I guess the whole package is through a BT box?

If you take the £10 or £15 a month package you will get a Youview + PVR for free just a one off fee for connecting the service. If you opt for the £10 a month TV package then you have to add the HD extra bolt on at £3 or £4 a month.
Entertainment max that I'm on or the entertainment ultra include the HD extra bolt on as part of the £15 a month package.
The no recorder box is on the £5 a month package,
Also when you take the TV service you have to ask them to add the BT sports package.

I will probably take the cheapest package and just go for BT Sport Lite with Freesat from Sky then.
