Emmerdale easily the top soap atm
It's been on a massive high since last year, quality has been fantastic and the formula is working well, I think out of all the soaps( imo of course
) it's the best of all of them.

I agree. The disaster week was disappointing and the aftermath utterly crap, but generally it's been way out in front for ages.

The aftermath of the crash was awful imo. It's picked up again somewhat though. Tonight was really good

Yeah, I agree. Emmerdale is just always enjoyable. Even though recently, it's been nothng like at its best, it's still better than the others.
I don't even really like any of the storylines much at the moment, but the characters are so good and the dialogue's sparky, it kind of rolls along. |

I got to say it's the cast that's making me enjoy Emmerdale over the others! Fab actors especially Mike Parr (Ross)!

It beggars belief why Emmerdale didn't get the LIVE gig

I always think of Emmerdale as 'the underdog'.
Really enjoying it lately. |

It's been on a roll all year.
The carousel of storylines that they have in play at the moment are extremely strong. Amongst all of this Ross drama, it's hard to believe that it was only a week ago that Megan was killing it in the courtroom, and we still have the truth about the paternity of Vanessa's baby to come out... something that I am very, very excited about. And not only that, but we haven't seen the show's headline storyline (Robron/Katie's death) in weeks. There's still so much to be done with that storyline which excites me a great deal. I can't wait to see what happens over the Autumn as we head towards Christmas. I have a feeling that by the time the years ends, 2015 is going to have been one of my all time favourite years of Emmerdale. |

Ordinarily I would agree, but on current form I'd disagree I'm actually preferring Home and Away to Emmerdale atm.

Emmerdale has been amazing for a long time now. As much as it pains me to say it Emmerdale is actually better than EastEnders some days, but usually I prefer EE.
I just wish it wasn't on at 7. Usually I watch Hollyoaks at that time but I do normally watch ED on catchup or record it & do bulk episodes. |

The Katie reveal between the Sugden brothers should be good, but I loathe "Robron",and I'm dreading it starting up again. It's weird, just as everyone's raving about ED, I think I'm falling out of love with it a bit. But who knows, maybe they'll cook up something good that I never could have predicted. |

Do you really think so? I quite enjoy it, and it is still the most watchable soap, but I don't think the storylines have been very good since the Alicia and Laurel ones came to an end. They were excellent, but I'm not that bothered by the Bartons, and don't care about Vanessa's baby.

It's just pipping Corrie to the top slot for me at the moment, tonights episode was very good indeed, going to love seeing Ross get his revenge on drippy Pete

I think Eric has really excelled himself these last few days, since Val 'died'. I used to hate him years ago but got to like the old boy now. Good acting, Chris Chittell.

The characters in EM are on the whole far more rounded and developed. The Rachael character change was very poor but at least she's gone now with Ali.

Emmerdale is very overrated imo. I only found the week of plane crash okay but other than that it one of the most boring soap opera.

I think it has lost its way this year. It's become incredibly plot driven, majority of characters are unlikeable and the aftermath to stories is poor.
Natalie Anderson, Charlotte Bellamy and Louise Marwood have carried their stories but they get lost among all the poor comedy plots and 'violence story of the week.' It reminds me of Hollyoaks on good form. It's soon going to burn out and the next producer will be left with a mess to clean-up. |
