Emmerdale aired hour-long episodes on Tuesday nights like 4 August and last Tuesday and next Tuesday Emmerdale is scheduled for 1 hour. This makes Emmerdale 3 episodes ahead. Coronation Street aired extra episodes also on 3 Thursday nights in July and 2 episodes in August and tonight make another extra episode. This makes Coronation Street over a week ahead. These extra episodes of the ITV Soaps probably to do with the Rugby World Cup that airs next month on ITV so we might lose episodes from both soaps. I think why? we don't see extra episodes of EastEnders is because they only air 4 nights a week. The Rugby World will also air on the BBC so EastEnders can show their episodes on Wednesday/Sundays hour-long episodes in the other 4 days maybe. Hollyoaks will not be affected.

The Rugby World Cup is exclusively live on ITV. The BBC don't have any live matches.

The extra eps of both Corrie and Emmerdale are due to the Rugby World Cup next month, although the 4th August ep of Emmerdale may be due to getting extra drama on helicopter crash week.

The 8pm kicks off on Friday Sept 18th, Wed Sept 23rd, Thurs Oct 1st, Fri Oct 2nd, Tue Oct 6th, Wed Oct 7th, Fri Oct 9th and Fri Oct 30th will all affect the soap schedules on ITV.

I am not interested in the Rugby, so I am glad Emmerdale looks to only be affected once, whereas I'm going off Corrie and wouldn't care whether it is on or not.

The Rugby World Cup is exclusive to ITV, although ITV could have kept Emmerdale at 8pm on Thursdays, and move Corrie to it's old timeslot of 8:30 to avoid any clash with Eastenders, and ITV have the cheek to moan about Strictly v X Factor.

I thought BBC got rights but I must be mistaken.

The rugby should be on ITV4 all the time. Not everyone likes to watch grown men with their balls in the air.
