This is going to be huge. Whether or not it will have bigger sales than 21, who knows? Initially I thought it wouldn't beat it, but I'm shocked at all the hype after just a 15 second snippet on an advert. She's going to completely take over the charts worldwide and she'll certainly break some records to start with...fastest selling something or other etc!! The preview of the song does actually sound quite promising...although I'm surprised at the sound of it as I thought she had said that the album would be quite up tempo (I could be wrong). Judging by the lyrics though, I wonder if maybe the album starts off with her getting in touch with her ex after a few years (hence the lyrics in the preview) and maybe as the album goes on the songs become more up tempo as she meets someone new, gets pregnant, gives birth, finds happiness etc.

I think it's a great, different way to kick off a campaign. There's obviously been a level of anticipation about when it will come out and it's probably got people talking quicker than a standard press release would have.

21 is at #37 on the iTunes Chart currently.

Eurggghhhhh I can remember when she last dominated the charts, my ears bled for a year. Hopefully this isn't going to be the same droney stuff.
Still, can't be any worse than that Sam Smith.

The way that I'm reading the lyrics, this track could be about the relationship with her father who left when Adele was just a child. He tried to become friends when 21 went Global and she didn't want it then.
Now that she's a mother, she may look at it in a different way.

I'm not really an Adele fan but there's something quite endearing how she just effortlessly strides back like a behemoth and dominates. Good luck to her.

Agreed, I said it earlier in the thread. The lyrics we have currently seen suggest this is about her father. He apparently got bowel cancer in 2013 and pleaded with Adele to be able to see his grandson before he died. He survived the cancer but there has been no word on a reconciliation. The song may be about the time approx 4 years ago when the 2 of them were in touch and seeing each other before her father ruined it by telling the press about it.

Well, it must've cost a fair amount just to broadcast that 30 second snippet. There's no way the record company would splash the cash if they weren't expecting a massive return.
.
it's probably already paid for itself in the increased sales of 21

The new album could do anything, and I wouldn't be surprise if it hits no1 and 21 is right behind it at 2

The way #21 is storming up the iTunes chart '25' could conceivably knock '21' off the #1 spot

With album sales so dire, 21 would only need to sell about 15k this week and there you have it, Adele back at #1 before any new single or album has even been released.

So it's about making up?

Wonder if she's talking to her younger self based on those lyrics.

Saw this on another site re: Adele and "25":

"The 1st radio play for the single will be played on Radio1 on the 30th, She's going to be performing at Radio City Music Hall and that's going to be taped for NBC TV. Recording a show at The Palladium, that's going to be shown on the BBC and the rest of Europe."

Whoa. Major promo.
