No, I think in audacity they are exported as mp3....

but maybe I need to download and install some kind of mp3 player onto the phone,
then maybe the files will magically appear !

Audacity doesn't come with an mp3 encoder.

Install a file manager for the phone and report back the file extension for the files you have copied over.

i RECORD on audacity, then hit export
and the files are exported as MP3

so those files I sent to the phone must be MP3

Audacity allows a variety of export file types.
Where did you get the mp3 encoder from?

Any export would be to the PC.
What you actually copied to the phone can only be known from a file manager. The fact that you can't find anything to play suggests they aren't mp3 files.

i seem to remember , with audacity, you had to download this small file
and put it in documents.
Once that small file was on your comp, you could then export as mp3

I ll turn the desktop on later tonite and send those
audio files to the ... music.... folder and see if
that has any effect .

There are at least 14 different export types in audacity.

You can re - export them - assuming you have an mp3 encoder, but you need to check what ends up on the phone.
If you don't tell anyone what is on the phone, then it's hard to help.

looks like Tea Lady has finally sorted me out

I went on the phone looking for file manager and found
.... file commander...

I hit that and then hit .... music...
and ..... bingo ..... my audio files are all there ! sorted

I can now play my audio files....

another feature would be handy though...
I ususally play these files last thing at night
a 30 min cut off would be great.... ie the phone closes down after 30 mins
as Im often asleep by then !

You should create a pool of liquid mercury as well.
