It'll probably be the X Factor winner, again "yawns".

(Plus Mariah Carey and the Pogues/Kirsty MacColl will be back in the Top 20, again "yawns")

I do wonder about the Mariah/Pogues entries at Christmas. Do people download them in December, delete the songs from their iTunes library in January and then download the song again the following December from a different compilation album?

Yes, X Factor winner is bound to have the Xmas #1. I read somewhere (maybe here) that Katy Perry had apparently recorded a christmas single. Would be a turn up for the books if this song went to #1 for christmas denying the X Factor winner #1 - even moreso if Katy performed the song on the X Factor final.

Sick of x factor getting number 1 every year.

Cowell wouldn't allow it, I think that's the reason the finals usually feature acts performing their greatest hits, or a song which has been out a wee while already. Or 1D (the only act he'd let beat TXF to number 1)

I would rather an X Factor single was Christmas #1 rather than a random old song that's subject to a tedious campaign or a dreadful charity song that only makes their sales based on the fact that people want to donate to a good cause.

In an ideal world, somebody would make a real good fist of getting a brilliant new Christmas song out there, but the public don't seem to want it, as Leona Lewis, Kelly Clarkson and The Florin Street Band have all released great Christmas songs over the last few years and none of them got close.

Apart from Leona Lewis, none of them have a 4 month constant public awareness exposure before their single gets released.

Lets face it except for Rage Against The Machine, any Christmas no 1 since 2005 has either been X Factor related or a charity single and when there is a charity single, the X Factor's winners single gets pushed back to the previous week to give the charity single maximum exposure for the Christmas no 1 slot.

I've seen that and it's madness! Why get excited about Christmas TV a year in advance? 🌲📺
