Well i like xfm and its presenters. To go down the normal global route and employ tv presenters and the likes i wont bother with it when it relaunches. Hell i cant stand Moyles and JV so that's 2 reasons for me not to tune in. Just my taste of course im sure millions will love it.

All male DJ's too. Shame the odd female would have been good.

Not happy at all. Living in Manchester it was great to have local DJ's but now hearing nearly all will be gone and to be replaced with Moyles, Kay and Vaughan is even more depressing.

Won't even bother listening to those knobs.

Not on daytime but press release suggesting two of the current female presenters will remain on the new station.

Well seeing as I listened to it mainly for the Breakfast show and on the way home having the two main DJ's in Tim and Clint being from here it was good. Plus the breakfast show was great fun.

The rebrand will hopefully **** up anyway. Can't stand Moyles at all.

Isn't Kay from Bolton Lancs, and Moyles from Yorkshire?

Do they/will they play older stuff I. E. The 90s/00s brit pop indie stuff ?

Surprised it's aimed at up to 44's surely alot of people listening will be older those who grew up with brit pop of the 90's will be around that age or older.

Surprised at Vernon Kay too doing a daily show and he is a massive dance fan ?

A job's a job! Especially at the right price!

Yes, I think Kaye has probably just been employed to keep the Manchester listeners on FM. Surprised he got a weekday gig as he has never had a weekday radio show before, weekends may have suited better, expect he'll be cover for Moyles as he filled this role reasonably well on Radio 1 when Mills didn't do it.

He used to be keen on the older tunes when presenting the Sunday lie in, so think he'll fit playing 90/00s guitar music quite well.

The format doesn't sound my cup of tea music-wise but I'll definitely tune in to see how Moyles does on air. If he grabs may attention they may even gain a listener! There's a lot going on with Global technically and infrastructure-wise at the moment besides the on-air changes that makes me think this is a company set about shaking up the radio status quo

Yes he does some kind of dance podcast.

Likes indie too I believe, fan of The Verve Richard Ashcroft, Oasis etc. I reckon Launch DJ will be on weekends or leave. His TV work has dried up a bit, was on everything at one point.

Hardly, I was 18 in 95 at the height of britpop and pretty much bang in the middle of the target range so I reckon 25-44 is about right, but it's only a target and I'm sure some older and younger listeners will tune in unlike the ageist BBC, Global won't be in trouble if the age range drifts as long as they get large listener no.s to keep the advertising revenue coming in it will all be good.

Why would they remove the stereo version from the London I multiplex? That’s crazy. It won’t confuse anyone and means we can continue to enjoy the service in stereo, rather than super-duper mono.

Radio X might have a great line up, be amazing. But if it sounds rubbish (and has the potential to stay in stereo in it’s primary market, which also suffers from weak FM coverage) then it’s a serious put-off!

I’m surprised they haven’t dropped Capital Xtra down instead, if Radio X is their new flagship baby with big name DJs, yet only in mono until at least March 2016, it doesn’t sound good.

Moyles, im ecstatic with, have missed him on the airwaves last 3 years, been a fan since days of early breakfast shows. Vernon is ok, easy enough listening. Vaughen ive not liked since the end of big breakfast. The ego on him is too much for me, the way he talks over people and dominates thingsdoesnt make good radio.

So itll be radio x till 1, then over to talksport for H and J. 😊

Kaye and Vaughn more of a risk as neither have had a weekday national radio show before.

The OFCOM licence variations suggest that all the changes are happening on Monday 14th September, so presumably there will be 'test transmissions (adverts) for X Radio from the point it gets added to the D1 mux up until the 21st at 6.30am.

As for XFM it gets removed from all local multiplexes on the 14th so presumably will cease at midnight on Sunday night, or possibly at the end of the rock show at 2am.

So, more importantly, what's going to happen to Radio Exe? Maybe they could change to Exe FM?

LOL - Bet Ashley didn't think of that!

Maybe Radio Exe can sue for trademark infringement?

The name change promo just played over an ad here. Let's hope it's all a bit tighter come the rebrand.

It was a local London show though very different audience to the whole UK, needs to be less cockney to succeed.

And managed to lose half an audience overnight. More suited to X.
