What is "so 1975" - I assume you don't mean the rock group?

He is like something from a bad 1970s sitcom. Racism included.

You mean those awful unfunny 70's sitcoms like Fawlty Towers, Porridge, The Good Life, Rising Damp, Reggie Perrin?

No, I meant the bad ones, as clearly stated in my post.

Of course it's a dance competition and the finalists should reflect that , absolutely , but in the first few weeks it's nice to have a giggle, or roll our eyes or just laugh out loud . Time for the more serious stuff later in the series .”

Very well put and I couldn't agree more. I like Anton.

Hi BruciesChin its great to see you too.

As we know Anton is the epitomy of swave and sophistication in everything he does to perfection on the Strictly dance floor, its not as easy to see on the TV but he does have a big aura, many have said that he would make an excellent 007, I wonder if he is in the running?

He's already played 007 Terry. Surely you know that as a big strictly fan - Fiona Fullerton was his Bond Girl Nice to see you back posting Terry

Right. About time I stick my two-penneth in.

Anton is a god and I worship him. He is talented, funny, a perfect gent, and he is a truly wonderful person. I know, I've met him. And Erin, who is also delightful.

If Anton ever left strictly I'd be devastated. I am frustrated every year when he gets the perceived duffer. But he always seems happy, which helps.

And FYI, I'm 27. Not what you'd call "ageing" (I blimmin well hope!)

I've met Anton too at a charity event where him and Erin was teaching people to dance and he was lovely, he took his time to talk to everyone and was really pleasant. He was so patient teaching people, you're always going to have people in a group this size that will be marmite to people

I love Anton as well!..... the show would be a lesser one without him!..... all the women who partner him have nothing but good to say about him!...... There is only one winner each year and I think Anton accepts that fact and leaves it to the younger newer ones to be the madly competitive ones!..... he just has a good time, and that is how it should be for a lot of them I think.......

In the last two years he has looked utterly bored all the way through. He is now a bit of a joke and plays up to it.

Yes, his ballroom used to be beautiful - used to be. His Latin is a joke and so is his choreography. He cannot jive at all or do 'passion'.

He's like a tired civil servant waiting for his pension.

He MUST have something on the BBC ...”

Could'nt agree more. He makes EVERYTHING about himself and his lame jokes and constant mugging to the camera drives me mad. He has shown himself to be a very nasty and repulsive man too. He is a joke and is simply there for the type of "women of a certain age" who will lap up Daniel O'Donnel and his cringey dad moves.

Im totally gutted that a favorite of mine, Katie has been paired with this buffoon. I have to endure "the Anton show" now whenever she is on. Grrrrrrrr !

It wont be about her anymore, whenever they are interviewed it will Anton talking over her with his "joke, joke, nod and a wink to camera, gurn, gurn, me, me, me" routine.

I think it's the older people and grannies that likes him the most, old people in care homes.

For me he doesn't seem to take his own dancing seriously which I don't like about him, maybe because he's always have the old or fat celebs who have no chance of going far. (might be different this year)

He does make me laugh, I like his humor.

I have heard it said that Anton would make the best 007 since Shaun Connery, I tend to agree BruciesChin, if there is any chance he might have to decide between that role and eventually taking over from Sir Bruce when the public tire of gushy girls and the constant "Oh I say" which got on my nerves last night.

I hope he doesn't start up the usual stupid antics. Paired with just about anyone else Katie Derham would have a pretty good chance of winning. Just hope she can help him through the Latin.

She might still; if he gets choreographers in for the Latin (and he'd be idiotic not to), and finally takes the Latin seriously (and he'd be idiotic not to), and takes Katie seriously as a contender (and he'd be idiotic not to)...

Basically, as long as Anton isn't an actual imbecile, he'll see that Katie's intended by the producers to be his "last hurrah"; a final good dancer before he's probably retired to ITT to make jokey comments about choreograph. If he can't see that, and we get more joke choreography, Katie will have been utterly wasted, and I will send a very angry letter to him, in an envelope full of poo.
