SB's creations in Corrie: rate them
As much as I think Stuart 'the hat' Blackburn is the worst thing to have ever hit Corrie, I'm interested to see what people think of the characters he has created since he started. Some good, some ok, some bad and some terrible...
Good: Cathy, Aiden Ok: Maddeh, Luke, Ayla, Zeedan, Andy, Erica, the extended Tinker family Bad: Grace (Faye's horrid friend), Kal, Sharif, Yasmeen, Callum, Billy the Vicar, Linda (Owen's wife), Adrian, Dan, Talisa Terrible: Ritchie (Dennis' friend), Andrea, Michael, Neil (husband of Andrea), Gemma, Real Gavin, Joni, Dougie A lot more negatives than positives in my opinion... |

Lots of those are guests so I don't think they'd ever really match up, but none of his characters have left a mark so far. I like a lot based on liking the actor's previous work, but as far as Corrie goes, the characters are forgettable - namely Erica as I love Claire King, Billy, Zeedan...
I'd actually say Andy is his best, not counting Shayne Ward, as it's too early to call. Also an unpopular opinion, but I do quite like Michael. Oh wait - Tony. Hands down Tony has been a fantastic addition. |

Because of the recent Jason storyline, I think Tony is the best addition. I didn't really care for his character cheating with Tracy and all that, but the actor has always been strong and I'm glad he has finally gotten a chance to shine. Other than Tony, however, I think SB has had a problem with simply introducing a lot of characters and not really giving them any development so it is difficult for any to make any strong impression.

On an unrelated note, is Terence Maynard the only Corrie actor to have filmed alongside big hollywood stars like Tom Cruise? I was surprised when I heard he was in "Edge of Tomorrow"!
And then of course there's Ian McKellen...

John Savident (Fred Elliott) was in Hudson Hawk with Bruce Willis if I remember rightly. There are probably loads of examples.
And then of course there's Ian McKellen... ![]() Matthew Marsden- who played forgotten mechanic Chris Collins- has been in a few Hollywood films. Anyway, back to the thread: Good: Tony, Andy, Maddie OK: Alya, Erica, Zeedan, Luke, Billy Awful: Andrea, Callum, Kal, Yasmeen, Sharif, Sinead |

I liked Tony, even before this week. Love him this week. I thought the scenes at the hospital, particularly his, were very well acted, very realistic. I liked him with Liz, I wish they hadn't had the ever so predictable story of him being with Tracy. |

Michael is the worst. He is just Les Dennis playing an embarrassingly tragic version of himself.
