Maybe she gets basic kosher rations then? I dunno. Does it matter? Do you expect her to go against her faith for the sake of "fairness" in a game show?

in the celebrity series, they usually all have demands. Heck, Nikki got special food in the normal series.

Some celebs have had private bedrooms

Kosher rations. Seems pretty self explanatory.
Purple.

She'll get a kosher version of basic rations, I imagine.

'Koser' food? At least try and spell it properly if you're that concerned about it.

She will presumably, should the 'basic rations' situation arise - although since this is CBB I very much doubt it - be provided with basic food groups that meet the kosher standards.

This is reminding me of Orange is the New Black when all the prisoners pretended to be Jewish because the kosher meals were so much better then than the usual fare.

Lmao. She isn't getting more food, or better food. Just kosher.

So whatever "basic rations" is for the house, she'll simply have the kosher equivalent.

The poster has raised a point though about kosher food.
What exactly is it and what is the extent of sharing?
I never gave kosher food a thought until tonights BB.

What is the kosher standard of basic food?

The same as non kosher. It is food, animal meat usually where it has been killed in a certain way. Storage and preparation is an issue too but it is basically food.

Look...Gail is a tidy freak...Sherrie is in seventh heaven looking at all the sparkly gowns.
Look at some of them sparkly gowns and theres no way they would fit Janice Dickinson.
Janice was in the diary room saying she would trust them both with her life....pan back to gail and sherrie and they are mildly bitching about janice.
I hope gail, janice and sherrie make it well through.

Please trevor...dont put the question marks above your smilie as if i should be knowing this.
I really have never gave a thought about kosher anything until tonights bb but i found jennas attitude about a separate fridge to be strange.
What happens if a kosher person is in a situation if they have to eat non kosher?

Pretty much the exact same items, just in the case of meat or other animal products (milk, eggs, cheese, etc.) properly blessed/certified.

I am not an expert but have a basic understanding. The Old Testament ( Leviticus I think) lists the food that the God said his people could eat freely and those which were forbidden. Forbidden includes pork, carrion, all types of seafood and insects among other things. Permitted is fish and animals with a cloven hoof that chew the cud (ruminate) so - beef, lamb, goats are all fine.

The rules actually make a sort of sense from a health and hygiene point of view if you think about food poisoning risks in a hot country in a time before refrigeration. The rules are not entirely dissimilar to halal it seems.

I think when it comes to vegetables the issue is to do with cleansing to ensure no insect material is accidentally consumed. But there are also some rules to do with new trees and new wheat.

There is also a rule about not cooking a kid in its mother's milk. This rule prohibits milk and meat being taken in the same meal.

Like they're going to go hungry.
I bet they've got a fully stocked fridge and larder available.
The C5 edit just won't show it.

Means confused. I was confused by your post: 'What is the kosher standard of basic food?' You didn't suggest you didn't know what kosher was but asked what is the kosher standard of basic food. Anyway I answered re kosher food 'It is food, animal meat usually where it has been killed in a certain way. Storage and preparation is an issue too but it is basically food'

You can always google things you want to learn about

forbidden is carrion?
Then does jewish meat get slaughtered in the home and then immediately eaten?
I've bought halal meat before and thats been processed and packaged.
It was bought in a major american outlet.
Incidentally ...i bought it at the time because it was the cheaper offer...and tasted exactly the same as what the more expensive non religious one would have.
