love these vocal battles! Mariah's voice was crazy in her prime, Ariana sounds so airy and thin when compared to Leona

It was one very mildly worded tweet which I deleted as I realised there was no point extending a rather ridiculous exchange onto another space. I was joking though confess I do find the constant criticising of everything annoying and the response to the 'hey some of us are happy about it' as an opportunity to make more criticisms annoying. It can be annoying to be annoyed at a time like this. There are much better things to talk about!

Jordin didn't have any airplay basically though, "Double Tap" had fallen out the airplay charts when her album was released. Leona has "Thunder" rising on HAC/AC for album release at least. Jordin's album charted at #89 on the sales chart - so streaming will likely hurt Leona. But I think Leona should be able to manage top 50 in sales given that she's got a bit of a higher profile than Jordin at the moment in the US.

Constantly critical of what, though?

Volume3d was the only one who seemed to be unhappy with everything and he isn't here anymore ( ), so I don't get why it's always brought up as being critical. Even then, he seemed to like I Got You and the sound of the ballads on the album.

I've said I Am sounds like her best album. Thunder and I Got You are two of my favourite Leona songs ever. Despite expressing my disappointment with Ladders, I've gone on to say that i have started loving it. Another Love Song sounds like a big hit, too. I said I loved the FUMF video despite not thinking it was very re-watchable and so on. I've said that I'm super happy about the tour and I've said how great Leona looks this era. I think im actually much more balanced than some posters - you especially - give me credit for. It's easy to just write off people (Brooke and myself) as being constantly critical, negative, annoying posters and all the rest, because we've expressed some dislike of SOME of the material and promotion going on, but when people actually bother to read our posts they would realise that we're much fairer than most seem to think and in no way are "constantly critical of everything".

There are, indeed, much better things to talk about. It's just a shame that a few posters only concentrate on the 'negative' things I express and ignore everything else I say - which I've explained in this post.

I know all of that..but my point was to make clear that a top 20 debut is unreachable by quite a bit..I honestly think a top 50 on the overall chart could happening..but like I hope she has more than GMA otherwise would be a FUMF situation again booking one tv promo per week for nothing basically...I would have prefer 3 tv promo this week than nothing(or small things) for a month while thunder pick up on top 40 radio and the album still on the music shop and then from october starting a bit of promo each week to keep the album selling so that can still on the music shops and hoping thunder take off

It isn't unreachable. Leona has a song doing quite well on AC radio at the moment - the format that is responsible for most album sales. Jordin had none of that so the two are incomparable in that sense. I think top 20 is on lock for the US, is that being hopeful? Maybe. But I do believe there is a much better chance for Leona's album than there is for Jordins.

GMA, Ellen, James and Jimmy Fallon (I think?) are all coming up within the next few weeks, so if she debuts at number 1 or 101, there is promo in line that will help the album climb throughout the weeks and reach a peak then.

I don't think it's too bad. I mean the album could climb a bit given she has more upcoming performances like Ellen/James Corden/Jimmy Fallon and "Thunder" will be higher up the airplay chart by the time she promotes on those (perhaps even top 20 on HAC as some songs should fall below Leona and there looks like one or two will go recurrent).

There's plenty more promotion to come in the next few months in the US so she shouldn't run out of places to perform on if they really do promote well in the US. I'm hoping the label line up some promo around the time of Black Friday/Thanksgiving when albums see a large boost in sales.

You did, but did Jordin perform a song that is climbing up the AC radio charts in America? Hmm? No. She didn't. It will help Leona more than it will Jordin. That along with the fact 'Thunder' is much more appealing to the album buyer too.

for a top 20 album you need more than a song that it s not even in the top 1500 right now..but we will see shortly..I just warn you guys to be prepared because lots of you were not with CWL (us speaking) and GH album first week ..at least the second week won't be a disaster

Neither of them had a 'big song' that got them heard everywhere. Both of them, however, have really good, solid albums that got decent reviews and made people interested.
