God, this is an interesting thread to look back on. Having gone back to some of her old songs in the wake of Hello being released, I feel like I was being too harsh on 21 as a record. I think it could still have done with losing one ballad from the tracklist, but it's not like things didn't work out just fine.
And it's pretty clear that there's not going to be any Dido or Leona Lewis repeats here. Adele is the biggest star in the world right now. |

I've no doubt that she wants the next album to be successful but I don't think she'd want it to be as big as "21". She doesn't strike me as someone who's all that comfortable with lots of fame.
She's rarely been seen publicly within the last few years. |

Agreed but she's going to have to get used to it as she's most likely going to break the record for most WW album sales in a debut week (set in 2001). Which is absolutely unbelievable in this day and age. Quote:
According to industry-suggestions the upcoming album '25' could sell more than 3 million copies in its first week... it would be a new all-time record! The current record-holder is Japanese pop star Hikaru Utada. Her album 'Distance' was released at March 28, 2001 and sold 3,002,720 copies in its first week, according to Oricon... enough for an entry in the Guinness Book of Records.
https://mobile.facebook.com/29930328...hread.php&_rdrIt wouldn't surprise me if she also beat NSYNCs long held record in the US (2.4 million in its first week). Forget any other music star ever, we haven't seen this level of domination ever (with possible exception of the Fab Four). Her appeal comes from all demographics. Evidence? https://vine.co/v/eLzWh1tbnP6
