She looked fabulous tonight. Best legs of all the contestants.
She has a great figure and is very young looking for her 45 years. She can dance as well.

But I only live to see ladies' legs.
Think of me as the dad on the sofa who goes uncharacteristically quiet when a good pair are on.
Oh riiiight . Gotcha now (picture me doing a thumbs up )
Bring on the salsa costumes then and scrub the waltz and foxtrot .

Was very nervous in the run-up to the group dance, as I thought she'd be all Ballroom, no Latin, so to say I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement. Just on the group dance, she's top 5 material at least.

dancing.queen. I've blocked you, I don't want to read what you have to say and I'm not interested.

Well I think I've blocked myself. Even I don't know what I'm going on about.

Because she comes across as a smarmy, pompous arrogant woman and the fact that people can't accept that not everyone is going to be impressed by some unknown part time violinist only enhances my dislike of her.
A friend of mine used to work with her and says that she was great. But that's just one person's opinion of course.

Wasn't she the one that had a strop on 'Maestro'?

You mean the one who was reduced to tears by a quite frankly harsh tutor? I'd hardly call that a strop.

She comes across well in my eyes. You on the other hand...less said the better

Well said!

From what I have seen of Katie in the past and now in the launch show, it would seem extremely difficult to conclude that she is pompous and arrogant, but then, some folks never let reality get in the way of their prejudices, do they?

I just hope Tone puts some effort into teaching her Latin, 'cos she seems to have considerable potential.

You could tell by his reaction that Anton is over the moon to have got her as a partner!

She seems equally delighted to have got him as well, and as she has got some potential and Anton knows it - here's hoping he gets some help with the Latin dances.... There's a Latin specialist with not much to do these days who I'm sure could help (hello James!)

I don't know if you are prom listeners/watchers, but Katie isn't just a fan of classical music per se; one of her favourite proms is with the John Wilson orchestra which involves musicals, Hollywood themes and this year, famously Seth McFarlane singing Frank Sinatra. She seems to enjoy lots of fun and certainly has a lovely smile. I think she'll become great pals with Anton. Good luck Katie

I was looking at the other thread and it is amazing how many people have her down as a 'duffer'. Not sure what they were watching on Saturday.

Fortunately, the betting market is probably a much better guide.

Andre aside, she is almost certainly the bookmakers biggest liability, her odds falling from 40/1 to around 10/1 in the outright market and 20/1 to around 6/1 to be top woman.

Good things are clearly expected and all this support despite being paired with Anton.

I had a feeling she might be good before seeing her dance. Pity she got Anton but he does seem to have a fan base so he may not spoil her chances too much.

Not so sure that Anton has a big fan base. In any case in previous years they have probably turned out to effectively keep poorer dancers in the competition. With a better partner they might not be so inclined to vote.

I'm looking forward to seeing her dance. I like Anton. I hope they have a great partnership.

I'm not sure what is unlikeable about her

A woman who is articulate, looks hot for her age, is intelligent and self-deprecating and looks as though she might even be fleet of foot ...

what's not to like?

She is one of those contestants I had never heard of before and therefore thought as a lackluster addition to the cast, but it looks like she can dance and she seems fun, so I am now looking forward to seeing more of her.

I remember her for reading the ITV news, occasionally in phallic attire

I must have lived a sheltered life, as I have no idea what that means.

My recollection from her news reading days is that she was (still is) very attractive and dressed appropriately for the job. I absolutely do not recall ever thinking 'OMG, she looks like a p*****s'.

I'd better get off to Specsavers!

Not surprised at all that Katie showed ability. Just hope Anton doesn't screw up her chances. Would have preferred her with someone else, i.e. Pasha, but he HAD to get the duffer this time. Could be a winner because some of the better dancers (Peter/Jamelia) are marmite characters that might lack public support and others good dancers (Helen, Georgia)
may not have sufficient fan base.

Maybe means 'in attire that had a phallic effect' ?
