This tablet was advertised in most of the tabloids and TV mags over Christmas and the early part of this year starting at around £70 with a case/keyboard.

Against advise from other people, namely us, our elderly father bought one of these around May this year, it being advertised in the Daily Mirror.

Unfortunately, after 4 months the tablet's packed in, and will no longer charge or turn on, even with the charger plugged in . Despite hunting high & low neither our father nor us can find the paperwork, manual or packaging that this came in so we've no details of the company name, where to return it to or who to contact.

Does anyone else have any experience with this tablet, and if so do you have any details on the make, model and any contact details as I assume there'll be some sort of warranty?

Think you mean the smartpad 9.
Quick google gave this;

A Mirror offer for a smartpad 9 from Jan 2015 from barclaycard bespoke offers;
http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/technol...-deals-5644333

This is the company in China who manufactures the Smartpad 9
http://smartpad.en.alibaba.com/

Did he buy with a credit card, would be details on there where the payment went to and who to deal with, even ask your credit card company for guidance.

Thanks for those. I got the Mirror thing to come up yesterday, but it wouldn't work today (might be because I'm on the company network).

We asked about payment over the weekend, but he paid by cheque.

Give's me a couple of things to look into. Just d*mned annoying that if he's listened or just asked us we could have steered him towards a more reputable make.
