I've developed a morbid fascination with seeing their rhumba, I'm not entire sure there's enough alcohol in the world to get me through it, but I kinda wanna see it


I'd much rather she was with Jay, but I do think Ainsley is a better match.

I like Iwan, but I can see him being far more Roger Black then Ramps, willing, hard working, okay in ballroom but verging on dad dancing in latin, whereas Ainsley, much as can irritate me, has a musical background, I've seen videos of him dancing around and is more likely to be a much better all rounder then Iwan.

Ola and Iwan is a joke though, he's way too tall for her, must be at least a foot between them, we're back in Kristina/Colin, Ola/Andrew Castle territory

I've said this before, but I'm another who would have loved to have seen Natalie paired with Jay. However (excluding Otillie from this as we don't yet know what she'll be like as a pro on Strictly) I have a feeling that Aliona is the pro that within the framework of Strictly will make the best use of Jay's background in contemporary dance - I'm really looking forward to seeing his showdance, if he gets to the final.

Something else that I've said before is that I think that more than anyone, Natalie is the pro that gets paired according to height. As the tallest female pro by several inches, it's inevitable she's going to get paired with the tallest male celeb, regardless of any other consideration. If the heights listed in the "Strictly Come Dancing 2015 Couple Predictions" thread are correct, then Natalie could only have been paired with Ainsley or Jeremy, and I rather think Ainsley will most likely be the better dancer of the two. Ainsley can be irritating, but I'm hoping he'll be a good enough dancer to get him reasonably far through the competition.

I quite agree. I like Kristina. Part of her private life that her detractors don't mention is the fact that she supports an extended family back in Russia. That was why she broke up with Joe, he wanted her to retire and have babies, but she said her family depended on her dancing income.

I don't want to derail this thread into another Kristina-bashing nonsense but that's not what she said at the time of the break-up - quite the opposite, he wanted to support her having a career and she wanted children, which he refused to have. Part of the problem is that Kristina talks to the press too much about her private life, and the stories change, causing people to take notice of what wouldn't be any of our business if she kept her own private life private.

I didn't realise there was such a big gap height-wise between Iwan and Ola. He'll just be throwing her around then?!

That's not actually the case with Natalie. In half the years she's done Strictly, she hasn't been paired with the tallest celebrity - Peter Shilton, Colin Salmon and Thom Evans were. In fact, in her dances with Tim and Scott, she periodically looked taller than them in heels.

With Natalie being 35 now, and a Ballroom expert, I think she's in a similar zone to Anton in that she probably won't get a young, hot ringer again. Height suggested (and many on here predicted) that she'd be with Thom last year, but they paired him with Iveta instead.

Oti is 25.
The next youngest is Aliona at 31, then Joanne, also 31 - as is Gleb. I can't find Giovanni's age but I think he is probably the youngest of the male dancers.

Jay seems to tweet Oti and Joanne. Anthony is 26 and dancing with Oti. Giovanni is dancing with Georgia 24, and Aliona is dancing with Jay 25, so there seems to be a gathering of the younger participants.

I think Georgia is going to have to support young Giovanni. He looked a bit lost in the Wednesday launch show and admitted, on air, that he was scared of Claudia. (She was acting really scary).

Giovanni is either 30 or 31, so maybe the youngest of the men.

I thought Aljaz was only 25. A google search yielded this:

According to his official worlddancesport page (STALKER ALARM) Giovanni was still competing as an Under 21 in 2011 so he's 25 at the most.

I think you are probably right but how depressing and unfair to be regarded as Strictly past it at 35.

Robin is 35, but Brendan is 39, Kristina 37, and Anton is 49.

I think the point Izzie was making is that at 35, Natalie won't be paired with the hot young 'ringer' men anymore. The same would apply to the above. If you are good and have a continuing function you don't get the boot, but much over 35 your chances of getting a winner are marginal these days.

I think Pasha is 35 though.

During the Red Carpet show, Giovanni mentioned something about being looked after because he's the youngest so he must be 25 or under.
