BT YouView connecting early to TalkTalk
Hey there.
As you lot have told me I can use my BT YouView box with TalkTalk (thank you), I was wondering if I connected the box to TalkTalk ISP early (for iPlayer, etc) will TalkTalk not send the Huawei as we intent to use that box as a Freeview box (not connected to the internet) in the kitchen. My TalkTalk Super Fibre line went live yesterday (even though it was scheduled for today) and my TalkTalk TV box is due to be delivered and go live on 7th September, just hoping if I connect my BT YouView box before delivery that they wont cancel the TalkTalk box. Many thanks |

TalkTalk shouldn't cancel delivery of your new box if you hook up your BT one. But if they do, don't be too downhearted as TalkTalk's Youview box is pretty horrible compared to BT's. 😊

The TalkTalk Huawei box has been much maligned in these forums, but Jimmy is right. It isn't in the same league as the BT box. It does have its virtues. The picture and sound quality is excellent and recent software upgrades have improved its speed of operation significantly. It still lags significantly behind the BT box, however, which also comes with a bigger hard drive and much better remote.
According to TalkTalk, you won't be able to use it as a second YouView box in the kitchen. It will operate quite happily as a Freeview box with the catch-up services included, but you won't be able to access any boosts or the TalkTalk Player on it. This is what TalkTalk have to say about it: http://help2.talktalk.co.uk/do-you-offer-multi-room |

Thanks! Connected the box today and although I am happy with the picture quality etc, I am a little disappointed that the box only let's you record ONE internet channel at a time, don't remember this being the case on BT.

Are you regretting your choice of I.D. yet?

What a silly thing to ask, however I still love Sky, their channels and their services, now grow up.

Do you subscribe to both Sky and TalkTalk?

I've ditched TalkTalk TV and they are sending a jiffy bag to send the awful box back, and primarily using Sky now.
Its just with your I.D., it all seems a little unusual. |

Hang on, I'm confused, it was only a matter of days when you were waiting for your TalkTalk fibre to go live. Already you're sending your TT YouView box back, and presumably aren't keen on BT's either if you're back to mainly using Sky?
