Eastenders - Do they do it on purpose?
Write some characters so unlikable and just plain idiotic on purpose or do you think that is just how they see them and want to sculpt them as characters
Roxy laughing when Mick said about Dean being a rapist for instance, she really is blind. |

Roxy has never been smart when it comes to men. She has been a burden on Ronnie's neck for years too. She's probably a worse judge of men than Kat, difference being that her dad was rich.

I think its done to elevate the other characters in the situation. I know what you mean. EE do it on a regular basis.

Brilliant post. I forgot about Roxy. She's a silly foolish woman but unfortunately Roxy believes Dean. Hopefully she will find out the truth soon.
Shirley and Carmel peeved me off so much with their actions today. They weren't being malicious but it was their idiotic comments that annoyed me. |

Shirley didn't know about Shabnam and Kush's baby, but then her only response was about Jade (that she hoped it wouldn't affect Shabnam's judgment when it comes to the adoption). Like that was more important than a young woman losing a child. She of all people should know that seeing as what happened to Jimbo.
Carmel was extremely naive and misjudged the situation but I don't think she meant to cause offence. |

I agree about Shirley and Carmel, neither meant to cause offence but they were insensitive.

Tina is immature and naive to the extent that I have to question whether she had a lobotomy or was repeatedly dropped on her head as a child. For a 40 year old woman she has absolutely zero emotional intelligence, tact, or sensitivity. It's staggering.

Never been able to stand Roxy, she really is a waste of space. Can't wait for her to be knocked on her backside again when she finds out the truth about Dean (this story is really dragging now).

I think Shirley was shocked and didn't really know how to respond, Masood walked about before she had a chance to say anything anyway.
I don't think either Carmel or Shirley were being malicious. |

I was thinking that tonight when it came to Shirley accidentally making a pointless off hand comment to Masood without realising he had lost his grandchild. I know it was an accident but despite DTC supposedly loving Shirley he has really managed to put me off one of my old favourites recently and you'd almost think it was deliberate

Out of every female character, Roxy is the obvious choice to end up with Dean. She doesn't care about what people think, for one, and she's up for a laugh, which is what he wants.

Roxy has no reason NOT to believe Dean.
Just another excuse for people on here to slag Roxy off. |

Just another excuse for people on here to slag Roxy off. However, most people would at least question Dean's behaviour. Roxy doesn't care. I am a Roxy fan though - it's perfectly in-keeping with her character. |

It's not out of character of her to act like a brat, she needs a right slap and a dose of karma for being such a idiot, as long as Ronnie there Roxy ain't going no where.

The fact is that isn't unrealistic, plenty of women don't believe their man raped anyone in the past if it comes to light. And many women will date those not only accused of rape but also convicted of it.
