I noticed during last night's (31st August) episode, towards the end (around the time Gail started crying), the camera panned to Austin and the pupil his left eye was red. This can be linked to brain cancer. It was quite concerning. Did anyone else notice it?

How do you know that:

A) It wasn't just red-eye from the cameras
B) That he hadn't already had it checked
C) That it wasn't any number of other possible reasons for having a red eye briefly

I saw it as well but didn't think too much about it as I thought it was from the camera

Is this a joke or are you being serious?

This freaked me out, after reading it all I could do was look at his eye but couldn't see much.

Nor could I, if it was a serious issue wouldn't it have occurred more than once?

And could it just have been a red light reflecting?

I've had a look at the footage again and I'm definitely sure that this is just from the cameras. For a start, it was only in one shot and from one camera, and he looks fine in every other shot. Secondly, if it hadn't have been from the cameras, wouldn't one of the other housemates have noticed it and commented on it?

My exact thoughts.

I know it can be spotted by camera's but I've seen this a few times when watching BB's camera's.

Yes I'm sure I've seen it before too. I think it has something to do with the flash techniques they use to film the housemates when it's semi-dark (such as in the garden) and it only happened in one eye due to the angle Austin was looking.

Also, just looking online, it appears that medically it is one white eye that COULD be a sign of disease, not one red one.

I recall a news story about a photo that showed a chap's eye as a funny colour with the flash reflection. It alerted him he had an eyesight problem. I recon it has to be checked out just in case.

Ha ha. Maybe they have X-ray vision as well, could save the NHS a fortune on scans.

It just surprised me, that is all. I have known someone who found out they had a brain tumour after their pupil came up a funny colour in a photo, and they went to the doctor about it. I am sorry for the seriousness of the thread...

Moomin, Muggins, An Thropologist - your replies are obnoxious and not very funny...

I am not diagnosing anything. I was just pointing it out.

I was thinking exactly the same thing OP, it's always best to check these things as there are a number of illnesses this could be.
