I admired Diana in many ways, but I must agree they do rewrite history following someone's death. she did court publicity and a celebrity lifestyle, she used the boys at times to score public points (against Charles), and cheated with married men. She has a virtues but she also had many faults. Sorry just my personal views.

Diana confided and admired Paul and I'm sure she herself would encourage such/some 'leaks' if it resulted in a favourable public outcome for herself in contrast to the royals. Diana was very bright. Rip

Do you think so

I just think he's pompous and posh really, it just seems 'camp'.

This place is tame when compared to the dailymail comments section when discussing royal articles.

Surely he'd be charged with this as their would be a trace back. It's hardly like Diana's heirlooms are going to remain under wraps by those purchasing them, they're one of a kinds and easy to trace or track. can't see it myself, they just wanted to.publicly hang him after turning Diana into a pubic saint.

Oh I know, Diana was definitely no saint and I agree with you on that. I just find it disgusting that Paul has cashed in on her death to the extent that he has. He has made a lot of money from her demise, and it doesn't sit right with me. Understandably he may have lost a lot of respect for certain members of the royal family, however he should have thought about her two boys (who were still fairly young at the time) before leaking revelations about Diana's private life. And he's still milking it today.

The trouble is that it's no good just blaming Paul Burrell because without the media he couldn't have done it, made money and "exploited" his Diana connection as much as he has done. The press, publishers and now Channel 5 with CBB are more than keen to pay him money for articles, books and now to appear on this latest show. Eighteen years to the week after she passed away I would have thought he had diminished his returns to almost nothing by now and am surprised he's popped up on this CBB if I'm honest.

Oh I certainly agree with you on that aspect, I can see the persona Paul wanted to get out ie what she went through during difficult times with the royals and her marriage but the boys would've been the ones who felt exposed, used and betrayed too. I'm sure being much younger they wouldn't have been privvy to the media game that was playing out trying to tar each side as being at fault etc but seeing personal episodes going public they must've really resented him growing up, I mean look how much blame and resentment they hold against the media still to this day even though their were many factors involved in her death ie a drunk driver, no seatbelts, courting the press etc. But as children angry from losing their mother young they wouldn't have seen the whole.picture. I think on their part Paul should have had more consideration, but maybe he felt a duty as her friend to make public what the royals were trying to in a sense hide ie her distress, eating issues etc. Who knows but it comes across no matter his reasoning as him being disloyal and selling Diana out and I don't think he understands that's the public's General consensus regarding him evident by his surprise at the boos. I remember a story about William passing a tissue to his mum under a bathroom door when she was crying.....how sad. Understandably their is a line and Paul crossed it sometimes.

The media only survive today on the back of many gutter celebs we can't we shocked at them scrapping the barrels for zlisters to revive and try to make relevant once more or at all.

Did anyone believe his Queen and her crown in the bedroom story tonight on his VT before he went in? He said "I once went into the Queen's bedroom and caught her wearing her crown, and when I looked down she was wearing fluffy red slippers".

Aren't the crown jewels kept at the Tower of London? I'm pretty sure it was bullshit. He knows not many people are going to question him if he makes up little titbits like that. It's not as if the Queen is going to lower herself to deny Paul Burrell's little stories on CBB.

If he'd made up a little story about, say, Katie Price, I'm sure there would be a twitter war between them over it which would be covered in the Daily Star the day after.

Yes, of course they are. Most of them anyway. No way did he see HM The Queen with the Coronation style crown on her head, or the one she wears at the State Opening Of Parliament. The Queen has a few different crowns anyway, never mind before you get down to the smaller tiara type things. At best that is what he might have seen on her head, nothing more than a tiara, if that. More likely to have seen her in one of those old fashioned scarves over her head that she likes when off duty if you ask me.

I like the guy. Don't forget Diana herself was very clever at working the media.....I don't think she would be too pushed about what he has done in the years since she died.

He likely picked up a fair few media tricks from her personally I bet during his time in her service. He was more than a typical butler after all. In early 1997 he was with Diana on her land mines crusade of the time, not long before that crash. He seemed to become more of a PA it looked like. I also reckon Diana would more than likely have a girly giggle if she could see him doing this CBB thing in truth. She was no po-faced kind of woman.

And Charles wasn't ? I'm willing to bet that she wouldn't have been seeing any other men at all if she hadn't been tricked into being Charle's and Camilla's cover for their ever ongoing affair.

I'm guessing that's true. But we can't re-write history, Diana could have behaved better, she was far more popular than Charles could ever be, if she had been older no doubt she would have done things differently, she would have perhaps realised that revenge is not a dish best served cold

Otherwise Paul Burrell is just there for the money, let's face it no one else is offering him some.

His undying loyalty to the royals has always irked me. They treated him like absolute shit, and were prepared to see him sent to prison until the Queen suddenly remember that she indeed had asked him to look Diana's things, just as he was about to take to the witness stand as well. How very convenient

He knows far too much about them, and they know it. I'm just amazed someone hasn't tried to pop him off.
