My Mum said the same thing. But I thought Robert looked genuinely looked shocked when he found out what happened.

Lawrence is a very decent man and I hate it when they make such people victims.

Surely Laurence would have bruises to his fists if he inflicted that sort of damage. Rubbish storyline. The police aren't that stupid.

I think Robert probably did hire Connor but maybe didn't ask him to go and far as he did.

Exactly, and the police intimidatelly saying "Why would you pay him £300?"

Why the frigging hell would you beat someone up and then pay him!?!?

yep I definitely thought he was behind it when he conveniently turned up then promised to help him.

Robert is a scumbag and not worthy of the sugden name

I quite often give men £300 for a shag then smack them about when they don't deliver . I hate this storyline. It's got way too many holes in the story.

I agree. I didn't remotely approve of his reaction to Lachie's antics, but otherwise he's a good guy.

Wouldn't Home Farm have security cameras - at least one which they could check to see what the guy looked like after he left and how he came back the next morning.

There are many things wrong with the contrived nature of this story but the £300 isn't one of them. It's obviously intended to be construed as being hush money.

How about to buy their silence? How about because you're feeling remorse?

There's two reasons for you.
There are, as always many ridiculous things about this story line but that's not one of them.

Lawrence could have paid the boy £300 before "business" as far the police are concerned or he could have paid him to keep quiet. I agree that Home Farm would have CCTV outside or in the front doorway. Robert is definitely behind all of it and would have been the one to beat Connor up. I wonder how much Robert paid him?

I wonder if Connor is a past lover of Robert's. You don't have a random gay man willing to screw your father in law on speed dial, do you?

i dont get why Lawrence was so shocked when the kid came onto him, i saw it was a honey trap/set up from the start, the boy was coming on to him straight away, when he said he wanted his "experience"
i thought Lawrence fancied him back.
i wouldnt be surprised if it wasnt someone else like Diane, or rodney set him up to see if hes gay but the boy did the rape scam himself when he saw he was rich!

I doubt it's Diane or Rodney, especially as Diane has had more important things to deal with regarding her sister's death and her brother in law having a meltdown.

But alas.... somebody in props get someone to run round a water pistol for goodness sake!

It is difficult to cry when it comes to acting. Very few people master it. It's a rare talent. Even Meryl streep is a crap cryer.
