She was a horrible old bitch. Her being dead doesn't suddenly mean she was a saint.

(Sadly) I agree with this.

Why don't they release that one where she sounds like a strangled cat?

What's the point? She's dead now.

If her fans had half a brain they should know that it's almost a give the X Factor winner will get Xmas #1

Dusty Springfield deserves it more

Well Anyone Who Had A Heart only got to #41 following Cilla's death. If that couldn't even make the top 40 then the idea of Cilla having the Christmas #1 is just laughable.

This would be a better laugh to keep the X factor from getting the xmas number 1.

Well a bunch of random cabin crew say she is, so it must be true!

If the much maligned Bieber can have his first UK #1 after five years releasing nauseating pop-fodder for the deaf & female pre-teens, then anything's possible... sadly.

It won't happen regarding the belated Black though, that's a given.

I think people need to give it a rest with these Christmas number one campaigns. It was kind of fun and a novelty with Rage Against The Machine, but that was six years ago. I hate the X Factor winners singles too, but if that's what most people are buying, then that's what deserves to be number one. It's preferable to Facebook campaigns and bulk buying IMO.

What I find funniest about her music suddenly doing so well is that it's dreadful, and she had a really unpleasant voice.

I think she's actually a very under rated vocalist. I can fully understand why people wouldn't like her voice though. Particularly as some of her most famous recordings are not her best work, in my opinion.

I am a huge Cilla fan, have been since I was little, so I'm all for this campaign. But I think they chose the worst of her hits & one people are probably mighty sick of hearing.

Surely a more obscure track, would have been better or one of her lovely covers from later in her career?

Or a jolly remix: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhQGkCUMDyE

Obviously you are entitled to your opinion but her singing voice really grated on me regardless of the song.

The whole concept of the Christmas No1 is such an out dated meaningless thing nowadays. Who had it last year, another ITV talent show clone for a quick week before clearing off. What was his name? Most people wouldn't even know now. Ben Haenow apparently. He could walk down a busy town centre this afternoon and almost nobody would even know who he was. A pop chart and music irrelevance.

Trying to trump the Christmas No1 "fix" by a now failing ITV talent show with a campaign to back another single to the top spot is just as manipulative and tedious as what they are protesting about.

There seem to be plenty of clueless and deaf sheep when it comes to buying or listening to music unfortunately.

Anyway Cilla has already had a No1....with her album since she passed.

Funny old world, isnt it? People want to object to the "rigging" of the Charts by Mr Cowell by partaking in a campaign which essentially rigs the chart.

The best of example of this irony was of course the Rage Against the Machine track, one of defiance and rebellion. "I won't do what you tell me" it says..."apart from downloading a song to stop Cowell's number 1 run".

Agreed.

I am constantly bemused that people give these campaigns their all with no sense of irony whatsoever.
