You have a choice of a stereo phono to phono lead or, well nothing actually.

The Teac only has a stereo analogue output on a pair of phono sockets so no other option than to use a stereo phono to phono plug lead to connect to one of the pairs of analogue phono inputs on the back of the Yamaha. The pair labelled CD would seem the obvious choice.

According to manual device only has standard (phono) composite av out connections.

Using standard phono cables, these connect to the audio CD left and right slots (top two slots)

At the risk of sounding patronising, just plug it in where you took the other one out from - these things are all nicely "standard". If those leads (standard phono connectors) in your image are still plugged into the CD input on the Amp then plug the other end into the new CD player.

Look in the manual for the CD player - it really is as easy as it sounds. It's not like it has loads of possible output connections on it, there's just your standard two phono connectors (audio, left & right). Diagram is on page 8, if you can't find it.

I am really struggling to see what the difficulty is here. If you look at the back of the Yamaha you will see several pairs of phono sockets one pair of which has CD printed next to them.

Which from other posts is where you have the Cambridge CD player plugged in currently.

So the most obvious thing to do is to unplug the lead from the back of the Cambridge and plug it into the back of the Teac and not touch the Yamaha at all.

I changed my post 3 times after I checked on the OP profile, seems he's 68 and not especially tech minded from his other posts about PCs & stuff - so I cut him some extra slack, this time...

I thought this problem was resolved but was listening to a CD and thought there was no sound from one of the speakers so put my ear to it and there was no sound. So thinking maybe a wire had come away from the terminal I moved the Amp to take a look and now there is no sound from either speaker the speaker wires are still connected.Maybe I have pressed something somewhere but not sure.Have looked at trouble shooting in the manual but cannot see anything.Any ideas out there.Thank's
