I've a PC monitor which only has 1x VGA and 1x DVI port but I want to connect my computer and Xbox One to the monitor so I bought a Neet HDMI switch which from there I connect a DVI (monitor) to HDMI cable to the Output port of the switch and Xbox One HDMI to HDMI cable to the Input 1 and computer HDMI to HDMI cable to the Input 2 of the switch however the computer displays on the monitor but not the Xbox One, I only get a black screen saying No Signal?

I assume you have plugged the XBox directly to the monitor (not using the switch at all) to make sure that there is actually a signal coming out of the XBox?

Unplug the HDMI lead from the computer and plug it into the XBox and the cable that was in the XBox plug into the computer. If you get an image from the computer this proves that the lead and switch input you used on the XBox are working. If you still get no image from the XBox then that implies some problem between XBox and switch.

If you do not get any image from the computer but the XBox now works then you have a problem with either the switch or the HDMI lead. To work out which plug the computer into the "working" switch input using both leads one after the other. If both leads work then it's the switch. If one does not chances are it's the lead. To double check use the lead you know works and test both switch inputs.

Basically you need to do a bit of swapping around and trial and error to try and narrow down where the fault is occurring. Once you have identified the culprit that helps working out what is needed to sort it.

As above.

Also, do you have any apps such as TV, Netflix or Blu-Ray running on the Xbox One? If you do, even in the background, the console's HDCP will be enabled which might be causing the problem.

I've emailed Neet and their reply was,

Quote:
“The HDMI switch is only supposed to be used with HDMI devices. Using a adapters and converters (to DVI or VGA) will perturb the "Hand shake" process and create a HDCP compatibility issue.”

Plug the XBox directly in to the monitor i.e. no switch involved at this stage. Does it work?

- If yes, then introduce the switch. If you get no picture that way then it's likely that the monitor needs to refresh the HDCP handshake with the Xbox. Do a power cycle on the monitor with the XBox switched ON and the Neet box swithed to the correct input

- If no, then it's likely that the monitor isn't happy with either the output resolution of the Xbox or the refresh rate is too low for a PC screen. Check the monitor user manual. If the monitor won't accept 1080p (1920x1080 pixels) or it's not happy with 50Hz then you'll need to invest in a TV/Monitor.

PC monitors can be finicky about refresh rates in particular. The XBox One has the options to disable 50Hz and 24Hz. The latter is more for movie playback, but 50Hz is used by some games. PC graphics cards have traditionally run at 60Hz or higher, so monitors were often designed to match.
