On rap music

“Rap – so many words, so little said. What rap did that was impressive was to show there are so many tone-deaf people out there. All they need is a drum beat and somebody yelling over it and they’re happy. There’s an enormous market for people who can’t tell one note from another.”
On the Beatles’ famous 1965 concert at Shea Stadium:

“As a band, they weren’t in sync with each other ... When it got to Maharishi, I gave up.”
On Heavy Metal

“Millions are in love with Metallica and Black Sabbath. I just thought they were great jokes.”
On Rock music

“It sounds like a dull thud to me. For most bands, getting the syncopation is beyond them. It’s endless thudding away, with no bounce, no lift, no syncopation.”
All publicity is good publicity when you got an album to flog

He has an album coming out, I take it?

With that said though, his autobiography is brilliant.

One advantage of getting old is that you can start telling the truth......

He's got an album out this month, yeah.

Still, it must be fun to be old, rich and in 'I don't give a ****' mode.

I liked Keith Richards until I heard the interview where he slagged off Led Zeppelin. Just can't take his opinion seriously anymore

It's just his opinion and he can like or dislike as he chooses.
Why do people get so up tight about other people's opinions?

It was the magnitude of that insult!

No, my bad, the first post said it was rebuffed and told me to wait a bit before resubmitting, so I made some food and didn't see it actually went through...

Yes it was he also slagged of Sgt Pepper, the Sex Pistols and a few others i think Keith Richards is a national treasure if only for still being around and thank goodness he is.

I am also a fan of Led Zeppelin and the Sex Pistols.

Just wait til he rips on Kylie or Little Mix - that would send this forum into meltdown.
I doubt they're even on his radar though.

The trouble is though it is only because he has an album to flog he is saying it, when that happens it comes across as a bit desperate to me.

Not sure what song is sampled but the Stones song is Anybody Seen My Baby. I think we can assume that that was Mick's decision.

I think he's coming across more like the Father Jack of rock.
