Unless they want an extravagant lifestyle, they could make a living from giving dance lessons, exhibitions and residences on cruise ships and at places like Butlins, Haven and Warners. Panto can also be lucrative for TV faces like James and Ola, hence why many celebs do it every year. Then there's Strictly - if James learned to keep his gob shut, he and Ola could have her Strictly income, plus James in panto, which would earn them more for three months of Strictly/7 or 8 weeks of Panto than many people will earn in a year! Sadly, James may just have removed the Strictly income from Ola, thanks to his inability to put his brain into gear before putting his mouth in motion!

I can't see that, but I did see the front page of The Mirror on the newspaper review last night, with a photo of Ola and "Strictly Wars - Craig is a vile drunk", or something like that.
Would they have the income and lifestyle they now enjoy if it wasn't for appearing on Strictly? I doubt it. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you.

The point I was making was that there are plenty of ways for the pros to make a living that don't involve tarnishing the 'family friendly' image of Strictly (and, thanks to being a current or former pro, James, Ola and the others can charge more for lessons, exhibitions, etc than they'd be able to without the Strictly association). So, the pros aren't being prevented from making a living by Strictly/the BBC.
