I can't understand where the story has come from and do wonder if they are trying to put pressure on him not to have to pay him. God knows I'm not Peter's biggest fan, but they offered him the fee and then regret it when the event wasn't the success they expected. These events can so easily get out of control, I feel for them and I'm sure it was all done with the best of intentions but I agree it sounds like at best naive planning. If they agreed the fee, he did what he agreed to do well, and he never suggested he was working for free, I can't see that he's done anything wrong?
