I was a big fan of Marc's and wanted him to win. But the fact that, as the bookies favourite, he left two weeks before the final shows he actually did really badly.

I'd agree with that - but that's not the same thing as "doing well". To do well in Big Brother, it would imply you'd at least made it into the final, which Marc didn't.
